What an exciting night of events for
Sweet Mission! Not only did I humbly receive this Award from Pacific Premier Bank (this was their first year presenting this Award),but Sweet Mission placed 2nd Runner Up in the "Perfect Pitch" Competition. And to TOP IT ALL OFF,as the competition came to a close,the Pastor of the Church and his wife asked if they could speak to me for uh minute. The Pastor said,"You have more than just a product that you are selling ,you have a ministry,and the Church is going to sow into your ministry!" Then one of the judges came up and tried to say something to me ,so she started with "Your story" (then came the tears),so she said "just Thank you". I'm glad that God has continued to watch over Sweet Mission and that the vision is still alive and well. I'm ABSOLUTELY sure my mom is proud at this very moment!

(now known as Sweet Mission) was launched at The Friends Center in downtown Philadelphia.
With some successes, some ups and downs; the vision of Sweet Mission still holds strong~to Inspire, Empower and Encourage. The BEST IS YET TO COME!

Inspire, Empower, Encourage..This is the very message of Sweet Mission. Sweet Mission is a certified Home based baking business that I intially started Philadelphia as a result of being laid off from my job, which led to me loosing my apartment and being homeless in Philadelphia. During that time,I joined the Occupy Philly Encampment. I began thinking of what I could do to earn money and regain the stability I once had, starting a cookie business was my answer. I had no experience running a business or even how to start one. I then met Kyle Dorsey who gave me some information on classes for Entrepreneurs and I also met Joshua Gale of Philadelphia Lutheran Ministries who provided me with business and financial support as well as seed money to start the business.
I moved the business to Orange County,CA in 2013 to give it a fresh new start.
Not only was this an opportunity for a new start,but it also became very clear to me why Sweet Mission exists,not just to sell cookies but make an impact in the community by eventually hiring those who have been faced with barriers.

One of the BIGGEST challenges we have overcome is having a permanent place to do production of our cookies. Just last year,approval was given for certain food items to be made from home,cookies was one of them. An ongoing challenge is proper financial backing, which we are working on now. With your vote, you could help us become recipients of a $10,000 or $5,000 grant from NAV.

If selected to receive a grant, these funds will be used to purchase ingredients, additional equipment and smallwares for baking, packaging materials, pay for upkeep of social media and marketing/branding as well as funds in the bank for incidentals. Having these funds would make a GREAT impact on how Sweet Mission could run efficiently and help us move in the right direction of being an impact in the community.

Holiday Social for the 75 residents of Project Homekey Emergency Supportive Housing in Stanton. Project Homekey provides temporary housing for the homeless and immunocompromised. A little love can make a BIG difference!
