Field Trips -

New members who are not familiar with field trips need to know that you are ON YOUR OWN on these trips. You should ask questions regarding the difficulty and tools you will need (ie camping

We've learned that Caltrans has a closure of Hwy 70 at Jarbo Gap, several miles west of the Pulga jade site. Hugh Watson checked with his Caltrans people and learned it is a hard closure, so we
must substitute another collecting site.

There is always something to collect at Black Butte Reservoir. Hugh may find an alternate to Burris Creek for collecting. So, still plan to meet at the workshop at 8 AM Saturday, April 22.

Field Trip this Saturday!

We’ll be hard rock mining for Pulga Jade.

We will meet at the club on Airport Road at 8 o’clock on Saturday. Participants should bring a sledgehammer, rock hammer and/or rock pick. You’ll need gloves, eye protection, water, food and probably boots. It may be muddy so good traction will be important.

It’s a gorgeous area too!

Join us on Saturday 2/18 for a field trip to Black Butte lake, Burris Creek! We’ll be looking for some Jasper! Meet up is at the Workshop at 8:30am. Bring lunch, water, bucket, sunscreen, boots, gloves, small shovel and/or rock hammer!!
