Wounded Heroes
Wounded Heroes is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that serves Heroes (Veterans & First Responders)
The Kindergarteners at Ankeny Christian Academy blessed us with a special gift for Christmas 🎁 The students in Mrs. Maxwell's class made Christmas and "Thank you for your service" cards to give Veterans who have participated in our programs. The students and their families donated gift cards to local restaurants and stores to be included with the cards.
Many students in this class have parents/family members/close friends who either have served, or are currently serving, in our military.
Thank you to Mrs. Maxwell, your Kindergarteners, and their parents. You have helped to bring joy and happiness to so many of the Veterans who have trusted us with their healing and their stories. We appreciate your support and generosity!
Due to freezing temperatures and possible snow on Sunday, we are canceling our final archery event for the season.
Thank you to everyone that participated this year! We had so much fun, and are looking forward to next year 🏹

Mogadishu Mile Location Update!!
The track that we have held the event the previous two years, is being paved next weekend. So our event will be held at the smaller track, on the north end of Camp Dodge.
Remember to bring your ID to enter Camp Dodge. Children do not need identification. After showing your ID, proceed forward through the S-curve. You will then continue straight down Maintenance Drive, continuing straight passed the Freedom Center. Turn right on 5th Street. Then turn left at the first stop sign on Truck Entrance Road. You will proceed north to 11th Street, take a slight right and turn left into the gravel parking lot next to the track.
You will see us set up under the covered structure on the right. Can’t wait to see you all!

Thank you Professionals Amongst Referrals (PAR) for your generous donation and sponsorship of the 2023 Wounded Heroes Mogadishu Mile. We are so appreciated of your support!
Professionals Amongst Referrals (PAR) was established in 2013 to provide business reciprocity and referrals amongst its members. PAR is based on the philosophy that the most effective business relationships and referral sources are developed through strong, quality personal relationships and bonds amongst its members. To aid in the development and strengthening of these personal relationships PAR regularly holds non-business networking social events and gatherings.
PAR is built on the framework that allows only one member per industry, business or profession so that PAR members are not competing for business with each other. PAR further distinguishes itself from other networking groups in that PAR members must be individuals of integrity, who are in a decision making capacity within their respective business or profession, and whose business can benefit from, and be a direct benefit to, the other members of PAR. PAR members must be owners or presidents, if possible, but in any event, decision makers, of their business or profession. These philosophies and core values allow PAR members to maximize their benefits from each other in their respective business and profession. PAR members recognize that the benefits from PAR are many times intangible and are derived from secondary sources. However, PAR firmly believes that years from now the individual personal successes of PAR members will reflect that a large measure will have been attributable to being a PAR member and our association together.

It’s the community that so many of us miss and need.
