Karen is officially in the 500 class club at Fit2Live!
This amazing mom of 3 got her start at Fit2Live in June of 2022.
In her 2 years at Fit2Live she has kicked some serious fitness butt.
She is the definition of consistency; rarely is there a week where she isn’t in the 6am class 4-5 times.
She is a regular on the committed club (20 or more classes in a month).
Since starting at Fit2Live Karen has ran a marathon, had a blast in 2 of our Fall Brawl competitions and has seen some pretty impressive fitness gains, feeling stronger than ever!
She is so supportive of her 6am crew that she insisted on celebrating her 500 class milestone with her fellow 6am’er 750 class milestone.
From Karen on what keeps her coming back to Fit2Live:
“The community is one of my favorite parts of Fit2Live, but also it’s great to not have to think about planning out my workout and know I’ll be challenged to do movements I wouldn’t normally do on my own.”

What is Functional Fitness Training?💪
Fitness is full of buzzwords and jargon—so what is functional fitness training, and why is it important?
Here’s the answer: Functional fitness training is used to help people become better at things they do in daily life.
The movements used in this style of training are often—but not always—very similar to the movements you do every day.
For example:
🌟Squats are an important functional movement because they help you rise from sitting to standing, think sitting to a chair or a toilet (daily).
🌟Deadlifts help you pick objects off the floor—like luggage, a kid, a pet, or a box.
🌟Shoulder presses can help you put a bag of dog food on a shelf.
🌟Farmer carries can help you get the trash to the curb, groceries from your car to the refrigerator, or a bag of mulch to your garden.
The concept is even more clear if you compare functional training to bodybuilding. The goal of bodybuilding is to gain muscle mass, so people use all kinds of machines, implements, and movements to isolate certain muscles in training. They use specific sets, reps, and rest intervals to encourage muscle growth.
Bodybuilders are generally interested in size, tone, and symmetry, NOT cardiovascular endurance, stamina, flexibility, and so on.
Another comparison is endurance training. The goal of a marathoner or triathlete is to increase their cardio-respiratory endurance and their stamina to run further and faster.
Unfortunately, training just for cardio endurance means missing other components of fitness needed in real life (strength, power, speed, balance, flexibility, accuracy).
And then we have functional fitness training.
With functional fitness training, the goal is much more general: increased total REAL LIFE fitness. To increase what your body is capable of and prepared for. Oh, and we also like to decrease body fat and increase muscle mass, just like most bodybuilders ;).🏋🏽
At Fit2Live, we help our members increase their functional fitness daily through individualized 1-on-1 personal training workouts and in a general workout of the day in group classes with a coach.
We train to be as well-balanced as possible with our strength, endurance, flexibility, and healthy lifestyle habits.
We do strength training, bodyweight training, and cardio training.

Tiffany has hit a huge milestone and is in the 750 class club at Fit2Live!
started her Fit2Live journey in October of 2021.
Before starting at Fit2Live Tiffany had tried many different gyms, but nothing quite fit the bill for her….until she found Fit2Live!
In just under 3 years this awesome 6am’er has blazed her trail to the 750 class club at Fit2Live and TONs more functional fitness to show for it.
She has a ridiculous committed club streak of 24 months in a row! That’s at least 20 classes each and every month, for 24 months!
She has kicked butt in our Fall Brawl Competition twice now and uses her functional fitness daily to take care of her two doggos.
Most importantly, she supports her fellow 6am’ers and puts the community in community. So much so that she wanted to celebrate her 750 milestone with her fellow 6am’er

This is Katie ⭐
She started personal training at Fit2Live when she was experiencing back and shoulder pain in April of 2023.
Katie decided to start with 1x a week personal training sessions in to get individualized attention on her irritations that were creeping up while maintaining her group class schedule of 2-3 classes a week.
Coach Brandon and Katie got right to work tackling those irritations.
Early in her PT journey she suffered a bad luck foot injury and was in a boot for 2 months.
For most, this would have been a great excuse to abandon goals and to sit back and relax.
Lucky for Katie she was able to pivot her sessions with Coach Brandon to focusing on an individualized workout to keep her moving with the other 75% of her body, ensuring that she would not lose her progress and her strength.
Fast forward to today and not only has Katie overcome her foot injury but she took first place at State and qualified for the US Spring Nationals in masters swimming! 🏊♀️
Katie continues to attend group classes 2-3x a week while utilizing personal training as a way to hone in on her specific goals and any irritations that pop up in her active lifestyle.
Personal training helped Katie reach her goals faster and ensures that she takes less steps backwards when setbacks pop up.

He is one fit professor & a proud member of our 2000 class club at Fit2Live.
Bud wasn’t always this fit.
Bud has consistently shown up, worked hard, and asked great questions in class each and every week since 2008!
You read that right.
Bud has been coming to Fit2Live for 15 years now.

This is Dr. Tereze.
She is a 2000 class club member at Fit2Live and recently celebrated her 10th gymaversary at Fit2Live!
That’s right, 10 years ago she made a decision to enlist the help of supportive coaches who could keep her consistent, accountable and having fun with her fitness routine.
Tereze has been consistently showing up, working hard and having fun at Fit2Live since August of 2013!
Tereze is a dentist by day.
She regularly shows up to classes at Fit2Live to add strength, endurance, mobility and more functional fitness to her day to day dentistry duties.
Tereze is focused, fun and a great conversationalist. She is a huge part of our down to earth community at Fit2Live.
She also has specific goals to balance out and strengthen her posture while also working on her imbalances from the regular leaning over of patients and other dentistry positions.
She consistently works on these opportunities for improvement and balance with weekly 1-on-1 personal training sessions with a Coach as well as in classes 3-4x a week.
She sees an opportunity for improvement, enlists the help of her coaches, and gets to work on attacking them!

This rock climbing, triathlon running endurance athlete uses Fit2Live to balance out all of his active life endeavors.
James adds strength training, bodyweight training and higher intensity workouts each and every week at Fit2Live.
James first joined us in February of 2022 in need of more functional fitness in his life.
2.5 years later he has not only added more strength but he has added plenty of friends and coaches behind his back to hold him accountable to his goals.
He is quite the fun member to have in class, always supporting those around him.
He has also kicked some butt in 2 of our Fall Brawl Competitions.
James has laid a solid foundation for more balance to his active endurance lifestyle, allowing him to do more work inside and outside of the gym.
He now has a sweet red 250 class club t-shirt to show off for his hard work.

Greg is in the 750 class club at Fit2Live!
is a hard working, easy going ENT surgeon who also cares deeply about his health and fitness.
He is a regular in the 6:30pm classes and always bring a positive hard working attitude with him.
He is quite the busy doctor who frequently travels around the world to volunteer his time.
Even with his busy schedule and world travels he still makes time to work on his health and fitness at Fit2Live.
Greg started his Fit2Live journey in February of 2017.
Greg had been lifting weights for many years before joining Fit2Live. Admittedly Greg was neglecting other aspects of his fitness, cardio, bodyweight and mobility mainly.
He was looking for an exercise program that was a well balanced ideal combination of all aspects of fitness.
In the last 7.5 years Greg has certainly found more balance with his fitness routine but he has also found one heck of a community and team of coaches who hold him accountable and make fitnessing fun.
When asked what keeps him coming back consistently he said:
“The community, coaching and the workouts. I feel like my fellow cross-fitters and the coaches are my extended family. I genuinely look forward to seeing everyone’s faces (even when doing thrusters).”
It’s been a blast to watch your fitness journey over the years Greg.

Big shout out to our August Member of the Month Gayathri Akella!
Gayathri is a very consistent, always positive and friendly F2L’er.
Gayathri is quite the outgoing member, meshing with every class and event she attends at Fit2Live.
She is a regular in just about all classes at Fit2Live. Morning, afternoon, evening, you name it, Gayathri makes a point to show up when her schedule allows 4-5x each and every week.
Gayathri has been uber consistent with her attendance since rejoining us in November of 2022 (she was a member 10 years prior to 2022) and she has plenty of fitness results to show for it.
She is a great asset to the Masters class members and has a very impressive consecutive committed club streak of 10 months straight with 20 or more classes!
She even knocked out her first Fall Brawl Competition last October and had a blast!
She is one fit and fun mom!
For these reasons and many more, Gayathri has been chosen as our member of the month for August of 2024!

Anne is in the 750 class club at Fit2Live!
Anne is one heck of a Fit2Live member to have around.
She is an avid sailor and volleyball playing rockstar.
Anne started her Fit2Live journey in October of 2018.
She joined Fit2Live in hopes of balancing her volleyball playing and to add more strength and general preparedness for her sailing adventures….and for life.
She wanted to be fit and capable for her active endeavors but also for whatever life threw her way.
She has certainly balanced out her volleyball with more strength and stability and is a saling ninja, being able to sail the day away with her husband frequently.
Anne came for the fitness results and stayed for the coaching and community.
She certainly has achieved some impressive fitness gains over the years at Fit2Live.
She has competed in our Fall Brawl Competition and is a frequent 7am class and masters class member, always bringing the can-do attitude and hard work.
Here is what Anne has to say on what she loves most about Fit2Live:
“I really like rolling out of bed, and into class, not having to think about what we’re doing. I just show up, and the coach says ‘do this’ and I say, ‘OK coach’. Done. I like the variety. I like the intensity. And I truly love my 6:00am and 7:00am crew. And, after doing Fall Brawl, I know that the culture of support permeates every class, every day. It’s the best.”
