Last Friday I hosted my inaugural Diamonds and Bling Senior Appreciation Reception. It was my way to give back to the seniors in our community and thank them for all that they do to keep our community thriving. We had an amazing time celebrating each other. Great food, great music and great company. I can’t think of a better way to spend my Friday. It warmed my heart to see the seniors having such an amazing time with one another. I would like to send a special thank you to all of the county and state agencies that came out to share a wealth of information with the seniors. 💎💎
The District 2 Team spent the entire day last week delivering Turkeys and Hams to residents across the district. We delivered 230 Turkey’s and 25 Ham’s to 5 schools, a community center, and El Poder Deser Mujer, thanks to the generosity of those who invest in our community. Seeing the smiles and gratitude on the faces of those in our community was truly priceless. We continue to be dedicated to building a stronger more caring community. Together we are making a difference one turkey at a time! 🌍✨ let’s continue to spread, love, kindness, and warmth this holiday season! Happy Thanksgiving from our District 2 family to yours! 🦃🍗

We were shocked and saddened by the news of the tragic accident that took the lives of two young elementary students who were walking to school this morning. Mere words cannot express our heartfelt sympathy to the families, friends, and entire school community of Riverdale, Maryland for this horrific incident. Being mindful of the importance of public and road safety cannot be emphasized enough. Coucilmember Fisher is committed to strengthening awareness for pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, vehicle passengers and implementing additional safety measures around school districts where there are children present. Please know that the Councilmember Fisher shares your pain and we are available for support and a source of comfort. The Prince George’s County Council took a tour of the University of Maryland, College Park to discuss the economic development on the route 1 corridor at the Terrapin Development Company, enrollment of PGCPS students and the continued collaboration between the County and UMD. It was great to visit my former professor Dr.Nina Harris and spend time with students and faculty. When I was asked about my journey in public service, one thing I mentioned was tutoring kids in my current district at the age of 19 at UMD. I said that being the youngest elected woman on County Council isn’t magic, but was really Maryland.
Forever a TERP!! 🎉🐢❤️🖤💛🤍
