How exciting! Monali, an exchange visitor elementary Science teacher from India, shared her incredible opportunity to visit with the Governor of Ohio and the First Lady in their residence where they celebrated teachers! This fantastic event was organized by the Ohio Department of Education.

Monali also recently participated in a professional development opportunity through a teacher leadership summit. She was able to attend very informative sessions by eminent speakers who shared their knowledge. You are a strong educator and leader, we are so proud of you.

Teachers Council is excited to share that Tanique, an exchange visitor Computer Science teacher in New York, has again been recognized for her outstanding efforts in empowering her students.

Tanique, from Jamaica, led with self-confidence, her students to achieve the top 10 placement during the Fall Qualifier of the 2024 Microsoft Office Specialist US Championship taking place in the same state. Not only that, out of those 10, her students placed in the 2nd, 6th, 7th and 9th place. Last year, she was also honored with the 2023 Outstanding Educator Certificate from the Certipost's - Microsoft Office Specialist Fall Qualifier event.

We celebrate Marta, along with her entire school district and community, for recently being recognized as "Campus Bilingual Teacher of the Year"!✨

Marta, is a remarkable exchange visitor educator from Spain. She has risen to the top with her proven hard work, dedication, and leadership in her school. She has surpassed expectations as a bilingual elementary teacher teaching all core courses to her lucky students.

As the school year comes to a close, we love hearing from Teachers Council-sponsored teachers like Ivy. She has just completed her first year as an exchange visitor from the Philippines, currently teaching elementary students in North Dakota.

Our leadership team is all smiles in front of the Teachers Council Annapolis headquarters with the knowledge that international educators around the globe are onboarding, obtaining visa approvals, and making travel plans to arrive in the US soon to begin their exchange visitor programs.

The upcoming year at schools across the country will have wonderful, qualified, interesting international teachers sharing their culture and years of teaching expertise with American students and their community. The mission of the program is to build diplomacy and mutual understanding between Americans and people from other countries. The "exchange" happens when teachers return home and share what they have learned teaching and living in the US!

Community volunteerism is a hallmark of American culture. We are thrilled to see the participation by exchange visitor teachers, and sisters, Rizabel and Rachel, along with their families, giving back to their Cincinnati community. Kudos to the generous volunteers who come together to support the athletes!

Rizabel shared, "It was such great experience to do volunteer work. We enjoyed joining the flying pig marathon. It’s a great honor to be part of it. We enjoyed the event and American people are very appreciative and thankful. We really thank you for this opportunity."

The U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs offered this opportunity for exchange visitors to volunteer at the 26th Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati, Ohio. Over the past eight years, exchange visitors from around the world have taken part in American volunteerism while meeting and socializing with other exchange visitors at marathons across the US.

Seeing images like this warms the hearts of the Teachers Council team, knowing that their volunteer work made a difference and was highly valued.✨🌺🍎 Great job!

Great news keeps rolling in. Today we are giving a well deserved "well done" to Ms. Carolfe for being recognized as Teacher Team Member of the Month!

Carolfe is a first year exchange visitor teacher, also in Texas, teaching ESL students in grade three.

Teachers Council is based just outside Washington DC in beautiful Annapolis, Maryland. There is a long standing tradition in the US that on May Day people put flowers on their doors.

In Annapolis, local residents and businesses go all out to celebrate Spring by decorating their doors and front porches with gorgeous fresh flower arrangements. These are really spectacular and bring joy to all strolling the pretty historic downtown streets.

The Rotary Club of Tyler held its 95th Annual Young Citizens Club Awards Banquet to honor outstanding students and teachers who embody good character and the core values of the Rotary Club. They honored over 80 students and 30 teachers, respectively, as they were nominated by their school teachers and counselors. Maggi was recognized as a Teacher Awardee!

"I feel like it has come full circle for me as in 2006, I was also recognized by our local Rotary Club as one of the outstanding student leaders in my home city. 18 years later, I am now a teacher honoree. We are incredibly pleased to share that Maggi has been named Campus Teacher of the Year in her District in Texas. Maggi's hard work over the past three years was recognized at her District-wide Educator of the Year banquet last week where she was recognized by her administration and peers.

Maggi is a dedicated educator from the Philippines who overcame challenges in her first year as an exchange visitor to rise to the top. She is a professional and is always there to help guide her students and support other new exchange visitors and colleagues using her personal journey.

Teachers Council Team members had a wonderful evening last night meeting with a colleague from a partner school in Washington DC. The group enjoyed a fantastic international gourmet dinner together and then had an opportunity to take in the monuments and view the cherry blossoms at night! What a sight!

Members of the Teachers Council Team had the pleasure of visiting two of our exchange visitor teachers, Stephanie, from Jamaica and Michelle, from the Philippines, at a nearby Maryland Math & IT Academy.

Seeing our amazing teachers do what they do best always brings huge smiles to everyone in our office! We were in awe of the technology and skills taught in the classrooms, and the administrative staff was wonderful! (But we already knew that!).

Great work happening with students across communities in the USA... and once teachers return to their home countries, the impact of the program will continue. Thank you world changers.

Teachers Council is proud to be a new member of the Alliance for International Exchange. Our team recently attended the and met and shared information with 250 colleagues from around the international exchange community. We also benefitted from panel discussions with leaders in the field including Exchange Programs - U.S. Department of State with 50 representatives in attendance. The conference is an excellent source to share best practices, learn about trends and new regulations, and enjoy time with fabulous friends in the international exchange industry.
