When we purchased our home 2 years ago; we acquired a flock and became egg farmers.
I remember being so excited/nervous. We had a lot to learn quickly! I studied, followed chicken groups, inquired with local farms.
We did our best, and have many great memories. The woods has no mercy though, many we lost to predators and/or sickness.
For now we are retiring our egg farming duties. We thank you all for joining our endeavors! I will keep this page for all of the other magical creatures we have back here.
We brought our last lady to Susanna Farms, where she can have friends again because believe it or not, chickens get lonely. It wasn’t fair to keep her here alone.
We’re happy to have had the experience, and who knows what the future holds! 🐓

We believe they’re babies because they’re still together, pretty fluffy up close, and I saw one miss catching a squirrel the other day!

After 2 months of PTSD & winter weather, our gals are comfortable laying again!
