This week we are flipping our McHenry shop over to Christmas and it looks so adorable! The outside of all the shoppes has been decorated and now the inside is looking like a Winter Wonderland also! Stop by Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 1202 Riverside Dr in McHenry!

Customers always ask me for tips on how to decorate a mantle and hearth for Christmas so here it goes:

- have a large anchor piece in the center above the mantle. A large Christmas sign or mirror would work best! (Check our Santa is coming to town sign) you can also layer and put a large mirror in the back and a smaller sign on the mantle and leaning on the mirror.
- add some height to the ends of your mantle with candle holders, large wooden lanterns or a vase with glistening Christmas picks
- add a stocking holder on the center with beautiful stockings that are knit or have fur, to add texture and dimension
- add a garland towards the back of the mantle and put pretty ribbon that matches the stockings, and a 2nd ribbon with a different width and contrasting color that maybe matches the picture above the mantle. Add some glittery picks, some jingle bells, etc
- for the hearth add more texture with lanterns, or a basket with a knit blanket, or maybe a 2-3ft sparkly Christmas tree and some oversized bells.

Bring a picture of your fireplace and I will be happy to suggest some decor ideas!
