As soon as Operation BBQ Relief heard about the devastating tornados across Mississippi, they began working on their response plan. They hit the road shortly after, ready to prepare hot, grilled meals for people who lost everything. Our teams are working hard to deliver propane in the midst of this winter storm. In the meantime, please keep these winter tips in mind:

➡With our Will Call program, propane homeowners are responsible for monitoring the amount of propane in their tank and contacting Ferrellgas when the gauge reads 30% or not less than seven business days before they anticipate needing propane.

➡As an Auto Fill customer, we automatically schedule your propane deliveries when we estimate you are running low. Extreme cold temperatures can cause you to use propane faster than normal. Upcoming deliveries can be tracked and viewed through your online MyFerrellgas.com customer account.

➡When you are expecting a delivery, please clear a path to your tank. If there are heavy snowfalls, please mark your propane tank location with a flag or stake. This will help us provide the most efficient service.

When getting ready for spring, make sure that maintaining your propane system and propane-powered appliances is on your list:

• Remove any combustible materials, such as long, dry grass, wood, or debris, that are within 10-feet of your propane tank or cylinder.

• If you have appliances that have not been used since last fall, such as a gas-fired pool heater or gas grill, have them inspected by a qualified service technician before using.

• Before you start to dig to plant your spring flowers, new trees, or for any other reason, call 811 to consult the Office of Pipeline Safety and have your utility lines marked.

• Do not store propane cylinders or tanks inside of buildings.

The CopperDog 150 is more than just a dog sled race for Ferrellgas District Manager Doug H. and his daughter Maddie. Doug recalls Maddie's fascination with the race since she was only 5: "She had always dreamed about someday running the race and now her dream came true." Maddie ran the CopperDog 150 this month with one goal in mind: To finish the race with happy, healthy dogs. She proudly accomplished her goal and even won an award for Sportsmanship.
