We talk, we cry, we laugh. And sometimes the client isn’t always doing the crying and talking. A client stylist relationship is like none other.
Yall friends but don’t necessarily hang out together, we share personal business with one another and it stays right at the chair, and we may even do each other a solid from time to time cause it’s an unspoken value and commitment that has been built. We help EACH OTHER!! A principle I STAND ON.
These women help me just as much as I help them … and I love them for that 😘🩷

You heard me right ‼️
The benefits of a high frequency hair treatment go way beyond just promoting hair growth. It offers a range of advantages for enhancing the health of your hair and SCALP 💆🏽♀️.
HFT prevents dandruff and itchy scalp by stimulating the sebaceous glands and normalizing the production of oil that naturally moisturizes the scalp. This creates an environment that hinders the growth of fungal infections, such as dandruff, while also alleviating itchiness often caused by dry scalp conditions

Last time I checked our talent is what we were marketing so the focus should be on the hair ANYWAY
You should always be asking your client if they mind being on film before just whipping your camera phone out and starting to record
Always respect someone else’s boundaries. Just because you don’t mind being recorded does not necessarily mean that they feel the same way .
If they’re not big on their face being on camera, ask them do you mind being recording but omitting your face in the shot? Most of the time they would say that’s OK
I suggest instead of trying to record them face on and having them cover their face, which in my opinion looks very unpleasing like they just don’t wanna be there, record them from behind
That way, the focus is on the hair, which is the star of the show 😉
Let me know if this has been a problem for you and if this is a tip that you will be trying. I hope this is helpful
Hey 👋🏽 I’m Nikki B short hair specialist and coach. I help Beauty Biz Pros learn to work on the business and not just in the business. “I’m about balance and getting the bag.”
Building a clientele comes with some major work but allow me to share some of the ways that have worked for me!
❗️Share and save this for later
1️⃣ Communication:
I like to send things like Thank you notes (via email or text messaging or if you’re really fancy handwritten )
Shortly after their appointment. Having your clients business feel appreciated is sooo important and then that also opens the door if they have any questions for you about their service, about the products they left with or about their next appointment! And with this you can give a friendly ask to leave a client review.
Also make sure to
Follow up 3-6 weeks
If they didn’t rebook after their service and you want them to come in. Reach out and tell them you have a few openings and get them back in. Sometimes we have to be our clients advocate!
2️⃣ Find ways to relate
Building authentic relationships with your clients is so important. If you can relate to them it will build trust and your relationship will grow quicker and stronger!
3️⃣ Client notes
If you have a hard time remembering specifics (things they like, something special happening in your clients life, maybe a birthday, baby due date, a fun trip) just write it in your clients appointment notes to remind you! Over time my memory has gotten better but it always great to have a backup 🙃
4️⃣ Really listen to them
Regular consultations and chair side chats are important. You are building a relationship with these women or men and you want to make sure that they know that they are heard. I couldn’t stress this enough. Guide the conversation with them, listen with intention! 😉
5️⃣ Be patient
Building a strong clientele took me years. Sometimes it seems like someone built a loyal clientele overnight but I promise you that’s not the reality. Perfect your craft and focus on your returning clientele! This is big right here. It’s the nurture nature for me 🤗
Let me know what you think and if this helps.
❗️comment “clientele” and I’ll send over the link if you would like some help putting strategies in place to help your business have balance while getting to the bag 💰
Listen up 👂🏾 you need to hear this…
I know some of you choose not to select a niche because you think you will get bored.
Our minds are programmed to think that same equals to boring but it really provides you with consistency and prevents burn out.
There are so many things within your lane that you can cater to and be more effective with.
Think about it with you doing EVERYTHING….. how is that working out for you?🤔

When it comes to having success at the salon it’s not as difficult as we make it.
You have to prepare, execute, and repeat.
Set the tone, be the example and stop expecting something out of clients that you don’t give of yourself.😮💨🫣
‼️ Stop showing up at the same time as your first client. Get there early.
Fold the towels, warm the suite, decompress or do whatever it takes to make sure that the first appointment goes smoothly so that the rest of your day can too.
I promise it’s a habit you won’t regret 😉

Consultations are for us both!!! Here’s how👇🏾👇🏾
🔖You’re going to want to save this one too!
Consultations are a chance to better understand the desires of each client that sits in my chair. I get to hear their goals and challenges, creating a connection that’s more than just business - it’s personal.
This is our opportunity to see if we VIBE! A relationship between a gal and her stylist is a VERY SERIOUS MATTER 🤭💖💚
So consultations give me the opportunity to create a space where my clients can become vulnerable and personal about their hair wants, needs and concerns as well as communicate my request, policies and procedures— it builds trust! Which is the foundation for a lasting client relationship.
Consultations help to ensure client satisfaction which ultimately yields a returning customer. It’s a service WORTH implementing in your salon business to make sure that you’re intentional about your time and can deliver value to your potential client.
Some girls prefer curls some prefer a bump 😉
Which is easiest for you to maintain?
let me know in the comments
Its story time and this is Part ✌🏾👇🏾
Grab a 🪑
So as I said before, if you know me, you know that I’m real big on boundaries and I’m even bigger on staying true to my policies and procedures 💯
With that being said I’m not gonna do … what I don’t wanna do (and that’s on period)
🤌🏾 I will not provide Permanent hair color services on first time Clients. That is a nonnegotiable! To me that is the exact equivalent of sleeping with someone on the first date 🫣. I do not know you, I do not know where you have been or what you have done to your hair. Which means if I just go in and apply permanent hair color to your head and we experience an adverse reaction I could be at fault. I prefer to build relationships with my clients and know that you are serious about your hair care journey, and even more so I like to know that the integrity of your hair can withstand, the services that you are desiring
I’m not saying that other stylist doing it is right or wrong! You just gotta do what works best for you and what you feel comfortable with. 😉
What do you do that might be considered “controversial” yet sets you “apart”?
Have you ever just been on the computer googling yourself... occasionally I do so and I'm always interested in what I find. Check this out! Growing up, you would always see on TV that Hairstylist were dressed so fashionable and cute 👀… but realistically,😮💨 how in the heck were they working 10 and 12 hour days in heels and stuffy clothing.
You can definitely look put together and professional without being uncomfortable and I choose to just wear what makes me comfortable so that I can move freely And perform the job at hand. So needless to say, sometimes the smile on my face is gonna look better than the clothes on my body. 😂

How to make a great first impression
Believe it or not, your client experience starts waaay before they get to the chair and continues well after the appointment.
📝Let’s take notes
You could do an amazing job on their hair, but if your first impression isn't incredible, you're losing clients.
Here’s some tips to give a great first impression and keep clients coming back?
✅ Your booking process- make sure is stress-free, transparent on service offerings and expectations, and allows them to book quickly.
✅ Timely- Try your best to make sure the appointment starts on time and the consultation process feels personalized to their pain points and hair goals.
Don't rush through it!
✅ Environment- Create a salon space that’s aligned with the target market client you're attracting and makes them feel comfortable and relaxed.
✅ Retail- Suggestions and add on services are organic and address specific pain points that your client has, not just a cash grab.
✅ Communication - after the appointment contact makes the client feel valued and cared for.
Every part of the new client experience is an important part of the impression you're making.
Focus on making clients feel seen, heard, and valued every step of the way and they'll keep coming back
