Juneteenth is coming! Lots of interesting events happening in our local community!
MWB is pleased to announce that attorney Hannah Michalove has joined our firm as an associate attorney. Her practice will focus on civil litigation, construction law, and local government and land use law. Since joining the Buncombe Bar in 2021, Hannah has represented entities, business owners, developers, contractors, and landowners in a diverse range of matters in state and federal courts, and before multiple municipal bodies. Hannah graduated magna cm laude from Campbell University School of Law in 2019, after which she served two years as a judicial law clerk in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Before pursuing a legal career, Hannah spent five years working as an immigrants’ rights advocate in both the private and nonprofit sectors. Hannah earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2011. The Buncombe Bar recently honored Hannah with the 2024 Younger Attorney Pro Bono Service Award.
“I am thrilled to serve our community alongside the outstanding attorneys and staff at McGuire Wood & Bissette,” Hannah said. “As a passionate advocate and advisor, it is an honor to help clients navigate challenges and achieve their goals.”
McGuire Wood & Bissette has been a pillar of the Western North Carolina community since 1894. In addition to our professional commitments, our attorneys and staff donate their time and energy to charitable organizations and causes, serve on a wide variety of nonprofit boards, and are significantly involved in local government. Did you know that May is Military Appreciation Month? According to the U.S.O., Military Appreciation Month was initially recognized by a resolution in the U.S. Senate in 1999. Each year, during the month of May, Americans are reminded to appreciate and pay tribute to those who have served and those currently serve our country through military service.
MWB recognizes attorney Mary Euler, a veteran and former Assistant Staff Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force who worked tirelessly to defend and support the rights of our country’s airmen during her service tenure.
In her role at the firm today, Mary uses her tested skills to help families, businesses, and individuals solve disputes over wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other fiduciary and estate matters. She excels in cases where estate, trust, and fiduciary matters touch other areas of the law including real estate, taxation, corporate, commercial, and intellectual property matters. In addition to litigation and trials, Mary handles matters involving trustee vacancies, trust modifications and terminations requiring court approval, including issues involving charitable trusts. She also helps families and individuals facing difficult choices about seeking guardianship for relatives with diminished capacity, particularly when those cases are contested. Mary has extensive jury trial experience. Family disputes over wealth can be very emotional. Clients appreciate Mary’s steady and calm problem-solving skills as well as her in-depth knowledge of the risks and benefits of taking cases to a jury.
