Ever wonder why we call them Better Than Dad's Deviled Eggs? Here's the scoop:

Jeff's dad's legacy was built on his unwavering community engagement for several non-profit organizations and his church. Any time there was a potluck (and this was in the Midwest, so there were a lot of them), he would make deviled eggs for the event.

When Luella's started in 2006, Jeff put deviled eggs on the original menu to honor his dad. To poke some fun at him, Jeff decided to use all the same ingredients in his recipe, but adjusted the ratios to create something he felt was tastier than his dad's, hence the name, Better Than Dad's Deviled Eggs.

When his dad visited the restaurant for the first time, he got a good laugh out of it. He never would agree that they were better than his!
