Our Story
Hickory Tavern is our classic American story of how a couple of us guys, who didn’t like their options, built something that became bigger than we ever dreamed possible. See, we wanted to hang out in a place that let us watch the sports we wanted to watch, have a couple cold beers, eat great food and get great service. But when we looked around, it just seemed like nobody could manage to put it all together. Never being the types to settle for something that wasn’t quite what we wanted, we invented something new. A Social Gathering Spot: a place where the neighborhood is drawn by a lively bar, great food and a passion for sports and entertainment. It had everything we loved and then some, and we named it - Hickory Tavern.
What do we love at Hickory Tavern? We love great food. We love real, made- from-scratch food that’s familiar but with that something extra that makes you look forward to the next bite and the next visit. We love food that appeals to our eyes AND our taste buds. We love sports — they are in our DNA. We love cheering for our favorite team, engaging in a little friendly taunting and watching a game just because it’s on. We love music. We love music that makes you want to put the top down and drive, music that reminds you of hanging out with friends and music that makes you tap your toes, hum along and feel great about yourself and the people you are with. We love people. We love being around people who work hard, love what they do and willingly do what it takes for us to make this business successful. Mostly, we love hanging out with our friends, family and neighbors in a place where we feel welcome, able to kick back and relax, enjoy each other’s company, have a cold drink and share a meal. We are proud of what we’ve built, and we want to share it with more people. Why do we want to share it? Because when we took a hard look at who we are, we realized that what matters most to us is creating great experiences for the people we care about. And with that, we found our Purpose.
