Huge thanks to our new friend Julie Allen and the volunteers from the Project who donated 22 loaves of homemade bread to our Covenant Food Pantry for distribution today! The families we serve will be so thankful for such a thoughtful and kind addition to our food bags.

It's on, fellow bakers! On Wednesday 9/27 and Thursday 9/28 we will bake for Athens Covenant Presbyterian's weekly food drive. They provide and distribute weekly bags of quality food to members of our community in need. Rev. Amy Baer is our contact person and is excited we chose to partner with them! Drop-offs will be on Wednesday from 9-4 and Thursday 9-11. Enter through the main door and tell them you are with the Bakewithme Project, and someone will es**rt you to the kitchen where there will be a designated table for our breads. As always, please individually wrap your loaves, label with ingredients and what type of bread you've made, baker's name, and the Bakewithme Project. Please sign up for a volunteer slot (or slots) according to the number of loaves you plan to bake. Follow the sign up link in bio. After signing up, you will receive an email with more details. There are currently 4 families and 6 individuals who have courageously stepped away from the conditions of intimate partner violence. Let's show our support and encouragement by baking them some bread this month!

Hi everyone! The #bakewithme_project is on hiatus until the fall. Our volunteer pool has been very low, so I'm giving folks some time to do their summers and hopefully regain more interest by the fall. To be clear, there are not people depending on us to provide. Our service is simply an added bonus gesture of love, and I'm grateful for you who have added to this mission! If you have any ideas for how to improve, I'm all ears and welcome anyone who would like to help grow the mission! ♥️ That said, let's take a different route for the next few months. To get to know one another better, I have planned a volunteer work day at @sweetolivefarm for Sunday, July 31st. We will meet at 10:00a.m. to do some farm chores, including watering, cleaning stalls, refreshing straw, and whatever Kat sees needs to be done. Of course, you will get to interact with the animals. Kids are welcome to help, if they are at the age to take part in these chores. Donations are always appreciated, and there is a donor box at the entry gate. Please let me know if you're interested-- will most likely add some sign-up slots to our page. We will bake and drop off breads at Athens Community Council on Aging (in the office) on Monday 3/28 from 9a-3p, and Tuesday 3/29 from 9-11a. Breads will be distributed to local seniors facing food insecurity later that day.

Thank you for making this a monthly reality for one whole year!! We are planning to switch up our drop-off next month, so stay tuned.
