Camping // Desoto Falls // Sept 2024

I grew up camping, I spent a lot of time camping with friends before I had kids, I roadtripped/camped with John and all the kids in 2019. But after that (very long, very dramatic) trip I didn’t really have the energy to make it happen again until last weekend.

So glad asked if I wanted to plan a camping trip together, because I’m sure I would have let a lot more time go by before I planned one on my own.

Fun all around 😍 being unplugged, making fires, playing cards and cooking outside.

For everyone that did not ask, my sessions this weekend went FANTASTIC! I can’t wait to share photos with everyone ❤️

Today, I’m sharing some headshots of the amazing team at , shot in my studio (.evermore ) last fall.

These headshots perfectly capture the friendly and cool faces of the women who make Hologram such a wonderful place to get all your hair needs taken care of. But here’s the thing—while these photos show you who they are, they don’t tell you their full story. That’s where branding photos would come in. ⁠

Branding photos are intended to go beyond the face, helping you show your clients the world in which you work. ⁠If I were going to take branding photos of these ladies, I would make sure that there was a storytelling element in play. We could shoot in the salon, incorporate tools of the trade or create images that help their ideal clients get a feel for what it’s like to spend time in their chair.⁠

Two things:

Haynes turned 1 and has officially finished his 🎉🎉🎉 While turning one is wonderful, I’m always sad to see my baby bundlers grow up and graduate…

Haynes’ 1 year session was my first session on the new blue wall .evermore 🎉🎉🎉 and I’m in love! Note that his FIRST and LAST session was shot in the studio!

Both are momentous on their own, but together they are 🔥

Also, I’m so excited that Instagram lets me post 20 images in a carousel because when you want to highlight a bundlers whole collection of sessions you really need the space!

This session feels like I shot it yesterday, but I am fairly sure it was at the end of the 2023 school year.

As summer has come and (almost) gone and the daily routine of school schedules start up again I have to say I’m looking forward to consistent work hours and the ability to focus on 10 things instead of 50 things in a single hour.

Let me introduce you to Erika- she works in scholarship management and needed some fun, professional photos for her portfolio.

Fun fact about Erika’s session; she rented each of her outfits from for her shoot! Such a great idea!

Had the privilege of working with the incredible team of therapists recently, capturing both individual headshots and a group therapy session. ⁠

I met years ago when we were both hustling weddings and creating a name for ourselves.

Now Zeb owns and in Madison working with luxury homes and weddings on the regular.

How's your summer been so far? Enjoying the warm days like I am?⁠

My ratio of work and play is about 50% these days and it feels a little weird, since it's usually 90% work and 10% play, but I'm trying my best to enjoy it and not feel guilty. 😂⁠

In the work aspect of life, I've been slowing improving my website and backing up the hundreds of thousands of images that need to be in three different locations at all times. ⁠

I’ve been photographing this lovely human since the day she was born 🥰 Such an honor to get to document Emma’s amazing accomplishment of graduating from ❤️🎉

We waited until AFTER graduation to shoot so that we had campus all to ourselves (it was glorious)!! I highly recommend!

✨ JANUARY 2024 RECAP ✨

Happy Feb 1st, my friends!

Historically, January has been a slow month. With time to “catch-up” on things that fell to the wayside during the fall/holiday crazy, but this year hasn’t been so slow.

I’m so thankful that things are chugging along and I get to do all the photo things, but I was sorta looking forward to organizing (and cleaning) my house, lol!

Here are the highlights:
23 sessions for the month, even after having to reschedule several due to the ridiculous weather we’ve had.

I photographed my own family, which happens about once a year these days, so happy to have fresh photos of my so grown kids.

I rescued two kittens🐱from imm a parking lot after lunch with a friend. They are a bonded pair of sisters and the sweetest little kitties ever. The process of adding cats to our already crazy household of 5 kids and 4 dogs has been…slightly more chaotic than I anticipated 🥴

Our basement flooded… not a highlight, I guess, but it’s worth mentioning

John and Wren both celebrated birthdays! Wren just turned 11 🫢 Where does the time go?

The studio (.evermore) got its own website AND hosted a record-breaking number of renters!!

Busy season, theatre life (Wren) and the holidays made going to the gym nearly impossible for Nov/Dec, but I’m back at it!! Kickboxing at is my favorite 🥊
