Action Sports Promotions: The Ragged Edge of Excitement! Action Sports Promotions Inc.
was established by Drew Wolfe in 1979 to promote amateur motocross events in Southern Ohio. This idea originated after Drew, a local motocross racer, attended the Florida Winter AMA Motocross Series in 1978 as a pro rider’s mechanic and then competed and worked for the event promoter beginning in 1979. “The quality of those events greatly exceeded anything our local clubs and promoters had to offe
Camp Cattail MX this Saturday! Get’er ready!
My friend, mentor and the man that inspired me to become a promoter, William Bill West, died today. For many years beginning in 1979,
I worked for Bill at his AMA National Motocross and Supercross events. He was a true legend and one of the most important individuals in the early days of American motorcycle racing.
He taught me more than I can ever say, and made me want to be the best promoter possible. I will miss him. Rest in peace Bill, thank you for everything!
I think we ALL should be saying “HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY”
NOT “happy 4th of July”.
We should all remember what this holiday is about, Americas independence from Britain.
My pet peeve, my rant.
Happy independence day everyone! See!
My brother Kyle would have been 63 years old today. It seems crazy he could be that old, he’s been gone for 35 years.
He will always be young in my mind. So many still talk to me about him so often. It makes me feel good that he was thought of with such happiness, but makes me sad that he’s gone at the same time.
They say that a man never truly dies until the last person on earth speaks his name.
I think he’s going to live on for quite some time.
Rest in peace Kyle. You are still missed by so many.
December 21, the first day of winter, and the shortest daylight day of the year.
I’m sure you’ve noticed, but every day since is getting longer!!!
Packed and ready!! Adventure ride starts tomorrow morning.
If you’re interested, it’s over 12,000 miles round trip to Anchorage Alaska through North Dakota going out, and through Utah and Colorado on the way back. Gnarly terrain and tough weather conditions….but, there’s always someone who has to do it!
NOT ME!! I’m just going to Forked Run State Park in Reedsville, Ohio, camping for just one night! Seriously? If I go to Alaska I’m takin a jet!!
Just thought you might be interested.
Have a good weekend!
For you viewing pleasure.
Saturday morning I was leaving for an adventure ride and realized I forgot my wallet. So I rode to my house, and just as I got to my concrete apron my engine died, the rear wheel locked up, dragging limestone under my knobby tire, and the rest is history. I only posted this video to show two things.
1. It’s not a big deal to make fun of yourself, or provide fuel for other to do so.
2. Look how easily I picked up my 1000 pound motorcycle!
Enjoy yourselves!!
Ready for Mid Ohio Vintage Motorcycle Days.
This is my 1985 Honda 150 Deluxe scooter. Yes this is the DELUXE MODEL! I bought this for $400 at Mid Ohio like 20 years ago. It’s only supposed to run 65 mph, but this one’ll do 72 with race gas!!
I think it’s got a chip or turbo or something. There’s only one panel on this entire vehicle that’s not broken. Most of it is duct taped together. (Gorilla tape-sponsored.)
Over the years I have sold sign space on this scooter. $250 per sticker, $100 for a small one. There’s plenty of space left, but it’ll fill up quickly! Send your sticker and check ASAP! I also accept Pay Pal.
Hope to see you there!!
It’s mowing day(days). A few weeks ago I measured how much grass I cut weekly, using my motorcycle GPS, 12.4 miles, using a 72 inch zero turn mower.
Now, I’m going to measure what I mow every two to three weeks using my 15 foot bush hog. The pictures show one lap of the outer perimeter of the land I cut with with my tractor, 1.44 miles.
It’s a long process, but with my Bluetooth noise canceling headset and some great classic rock, it’s not too terrible. If you hear me singing, it’s cool…I can’t really hear myself over the tractor and headset…but I know…I’m a fantastic singer!!

Went to St. Petersburg, Florida today to see the man, the myth, the legend, William Bill West, from SuperSports Promotions, the promoter of many Supercross events around America. He was my boss, my mentor, my friend and the man that inspired me to become a promoter.
Thank you for everything Bill. I’ll see you again soon!
Did a lot of track work today, pictures attached. Erosion takes its toll especially on my hills.
I get offers on my dozer quite often. I consider selling it, then I go run it.
It’s therpy for me, I love it. I miss prepping my race tracks. It doesn’t make sense for me to keep it, but I do.
It’s expensive to own and operate it.
Maybe I should open for practice.
