💥 Our awesome volunteer adoption counselors will be available to help match you with a pet or two 😃, and we’ve got LOTS of great dogs & cats!
All dog/puppy adoptions include:
🐶 spay/neuter
🐶 DHLPP & bordetella vaccination (and rabies vax, if age-appropriate)
🐶 heartworm testing (dogs 6 mos+) and treatment if necessary

URGENT
Handsome is running out of time! We need to find him a home or a long term foster ASAP!
"Handsome has been the best companion in his foster home for the past 9 months. He is a certified snuggle-bug and food enthusiast! Handsome has been such a fun addition to the household, since he's up for anything! He's comfortable cuddling all day as well as doing absolutely anything outside (especially sunset walks)! He has the biggest heart and the SWEETEST smile of any dog around. He has the most expressive eyes and the goofiest personality! He is such an amazing dog and has the ability to make someone the happiest they've ever been.
Handsome is perfectly housetrained and crate trained! He rides in the car very well and is extremely friendly to new people. In fact, Handsome loves to meet new people on his walks and show them how well behaved he is. He's great on the leash and is doing amazingly in his training classes, as well. He's trained with base level commands and is currently working on his heel position.
Handsome prefers to be the only pet in the house, and trust me, his love is so strong that you won't need anything else! Handsome would also appreciate someone who would be willing to keep up his training habits at home, since he really thrives with learning new things and the treats the come along with learning. Handsome would love to meet anyone interested in adopting him!"
The shelter is out of options. Most of the time when foster dogs need a place to go, they can come back to the shelter temporarily until another foster or adopter comes forward. Unfortunately, Handsome is one of the dogs that does not do well in a shelter environment. He gets extremely stressed, frustrated and anxious, and end's up hurting himself. No one wants to see these pups in such distress, so it's not fair to him to have to come back. It breaks our hearts to think that he doesn't have more time to find his forever home. Duncan is the most handsome, sweet pup and he’s looking for his forever home! Here’s what his temporary foster mom wrote about him:
“Meet Duncan! Duncan is a 9 month old, perfectly behaved puppy who has so much love to give. He’s a little shy at first, but once he warms up (pro-tip: he’s easily won over by a few treats!), his personality shines! It’s been so great to watch a new layer of his personality come out as he gets more comfortable. He loves to play with his toys, which of course includes a game or two of fetch. He also LOVES his belly rubs and demands them before bed each night. He will do anything for a treat, and has mastered his ‘sit’ and we’re currently working on his ‘down’ and ‘shake’.
Duncan is housetrained and cratetrained! He does great on his walks and loves to play outside. He also does amazing in his crate! He curls up and settles in quickly.
Duncan also does great with other dogs. We had a playdate over the weekend and Duncan had so much fun running around and playing with his friends! He got a little muddy afterwards, but no worries because he did great getting his bath, too!
Overall, Duncan is an amazing pup and is so easy to love! He’s a little guy with a big heart and can’t wait to find his forever home.”

Sweet old lady SHEBA needs a temporary foster for a few weeks over the holidays. Who wants to help out with an easy low-maintenance doggo? Here’s what her full-time foster mom says:
"Hi everyone, I am looking for a holiday foster for my foster dog Sheba from 12/12-1/6 (or just part of the time if needed). I've had sheba for just about 4 months and she is the sweetest little lady. She has so much love to give and is a super easy dog. She just wants to sleep all day and she loves meal time. She's best with a slow introduction to new dogs as she gets overwhelmed and excited with new places/ faces. I have never introduced her to a cat but she chases squirrels and doesn't seem to understand smaller dogs. She just needs a short walk or a yard to play in and she will sleep the rest of the day away! I love her so much and really want to keep her out of the shelter for Christmas!"

I love these girls!
Nugget and Brownie were found at the landfill looking out for each other. They're sweet girls and can be difficult to tell apart now that Brownie isn't wearing a collar, but their toes and demeanors distinguish them.
Nugget is the more social of the two and watches out for Brownie. Her front right foot is white and she's got a touch more light coloring on her body. Brownie is timid but very gentle, allowing handling (including carrying) without complaint. Her front left foot is white.
I love pups like this, watching them flourish once they get comfortable. While they are close, they do not need to be adopted together (though Brownie, at least, would likely do better with another stable pup in the home to help her gain confidence--dogs learn so much from each other!).

Sage and Hershey are BFFs who enjoy a good romp together. They're both good-natured and friendly to both the people and dogs they've met. Unfortunately, their person chose not to reclaim them, but that just means someone else will get lucky with one or both of them!
While they get a long great, they do well when separated so they don't need to be adopted together.

Sage and Hershey ❤ Sweet, Fun Buddies
We had the best time watching and playing with Sage and Hershey. Both are well-behaved, fun dogs who LOVE playing with toys. They get along great and don't mind sharing toys and waiting their turn for treats. Both know how to sit, and Sage also knows shake. They're all-around GREAT dogs!

🚨THE SHELTER IS FULL!🚨
Meet Duque (Duke)!
Duque (Duke) is an 8 month old shelter dog who hasn’t known much of a life outside of the shelter. He’s spent the last two months in the shelter and sadly this is no life for a puppy…
Yesterday he had his second class and although he came in having forgotten what he learned last week 🙃, by the end of our session he was warmed up and even running through agility drills like a seasoned pro!
The shelter is full and sadly when dogs don’t get adopted or go into foster, euthanasia is the only option to free up space for strays.
Duque got extremely lucky when a generous human offered to foster him for a week, and we learned so much about his behavior outside of the shelter, but when/if he isn’t adopted or transferred to a new foster home by December 12, he will have to go back to the crowded shelter where his fate in the will be uncertain.
WE NEED TO FIND HIM A NEW FOSTER OR ADOPTER ASAP!
What we have learned about Duque:
✅He loves couch cuddle sessions.
✅He tries so hard to be good.
✅He LOVES his crate (HUGE bonus!)
✅He only plays with designated toys in the home.
✅He likes playing with other dogs, but due to growing up in the shelter, he’s a bit awkward, so supervision and slow intros are needed - he is a little roughhouse.
✅He is treat motivated 🙌🏼. This makes training easier.
✅He comes with sponsored training with Georgia Dog Trainer LLC to any local foster or adopter!
✅He is working on potty training in his foster home and is making lots of progress!
✅He LOVES being with people.
