Thank you ABAC, Atlanta Broadcast Advertising Club, and the BWH Garden Club for supporting Operation Feed and Hope Hill Elementary School. Community support for our community...doesn't get any better than this!!!
If you and your company would like to become a community partner by offering your time, talents, and or treasures, PLEASE reach out to us on our website. TOGETHER we can!!!!
November was a difficult time for 13 families that lost everything in the Lavista Walk apartment fire. Some of those families are just now finding new homes. But think about this; what happens when you move into a new home but you've lost EVERYTHING?
Our community came together to provide!!!! Financial donations helped provide the families with short term needs, thanks to our donors. Souper Jenny stepped up and set up two complete kitchens and E. Rivers Elementary School held a food drive that helped fill the empty pantries. To both community partners, and YOU, our donors; THANK YOU.
As you plan for your Giving Tuesday donations, please keep us in mind! We remain inspired and vigilant in providing for children with food insecurity throughout the holiday season.
What a week of giving - all because of YOU and your generous donations. We received more asks than expected on top of the families you helped provide Thanksgiving meals. We also pivoted and helped out the 13 families that were devastated by fire last week. To watch our community step up is nothing short of SPECTACULAR!!! THANK YOU. Please see the special message below from one of our partner schools; Scott Elementary School (images also from Scott Elementary School and one of our rockstar volunteers, Jayme. xoxox)
Subject: Community Partner
Thanks to my awesome community partner Operation Feed; my students and their siblings will have lots of snacks over the break! Operation Feed is also responsible for helping to keep our in school food pantry stacked! CIS...In schools to develop meaningful partnerships and break barriers!
Want to sponsor a meal for a family this Thanksgiving? OFA has once again teamed up with local social workers to identify families who could use a little kindness this season. Please fill out this form if interested: https://forms.gle/gxEKwEW11Kk5Bp6S6
This post shows another part of our reach that some may not know. The emergency call to action happens way more than we'd like but when it does, we're ready. Yesterday was an emotional day because these calls always tear us up; but when we met the family and their precious daughter - well, there are no words we could possibly share here in this post that could describe this overwhelming feeling of love and pride knowing we made a difference in this sweet families life. Because of YOU we had the funds to help. Because of YOU and your support we are making a difference. THANK YOU.
Please consider donating your time or treasure. The holidays are upon us and these emergency asks are popping up more and more but with our normal holiday outreach we're not sure how many "emergencies" we'll actually be able to accommodate during the holidays.
WOW - what a great week. YOU gave, we built snack bags and made boxes of food for school pantries, we delivered to 5 schools, and the guidance counselors hand out to the kiddos. TEAMWORK
A special shoutout to our industry partner Second Helpings Atlanta, Inc., the Operation Feed ambassadors and all the volunteer drivers that helped us provide food for so many children in Atlanta struggling with food insecurity.
PLEASE consider donating your treasure or time. The holidays are upon us and the more we receive, the more we can give.
As the holidays approach, we know many workplaces support local charities. We would be humbled and honored if youโd consider us. There are opportunities for food drives or even have team snack bag builds and donate to OFA. We will make it easy for you, we promise. Please reach out to [email protected] for more details.
There's a one word that we've thrown around since day one: RESPECT. We respect everyone person we work with and we respect the children we work for. Along with respect we practice privacy and discretion. Take a minute to let the meaning of these 3 words sink in. The words are powerful and the children we service deserve all three!!
We rarely get the opportunity to engage with the children. Social workers ask for help and we give it. Simple. YOU give to us and we provide for these sweet children. Simple. Below is one of the sweetest THANK YOU messages we've received and we wanted to share it with you. We want you to see the impact you're having. Even in this small image you can feel the gratitude.
The holidays are fast approaching. The school asks are growing. We need YOU. Please consider donating!!!!
Look closely at the image below....YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE in the lives of so many Atlanta Children.
As most of us prepare to enjoy a nice long weekend we should remember that some children do not enjoy the long break from school. School not only provides a safe place but also FOOD for so many suffering from food insecurity. That's where Operation Feed steps in, with your help. Today we sent over 400 snack bags to schools all around Atlanta. Each snack bag is full of snack choices that will hopefully last throughout the long weekend. To watch the appreciation on their faces, for us doing something as simple as giving a snack bag, is one of the best feelings. I wish we could share that feeling with all of you that have donated, but please know that YOU made a difference.
Please enjoy your Labor Day weekend and stay safe. To all of this weeks volunteers - THANK YOU!!
With the school year now started, we celebrate our wonderful high school leaders who have come through our Ambassador Program. Our ambassadors learn the vital skills that it takes to be a leader of people, how to run an organization, and most importantly the value of doing good and helping drive positive change in their community.
Your donation contributes to their experience as they help deliver food to those in need. Donate today!

Operation Feed's drives positive impact through connection with our surrounding schools. Our reach grows by leaps and bounds every school year thanks to you. As another school year starts up, we have dreams of reaching more children in need in '23-'24, creating more in-school pantries, and positively impacting the lives of many more.
Please consider even the smallest of donations. Every dollar goes right back into the community to impact the lives of kids!

As the 2023 school year starts up next week, we could not be more excited about the year ahead. We are impacting the Atlanta school community and it is through your gracious volunteering, our amazing high school ambassadors, and your donations (which we need and appreciate!). Leading up to the school year, we will be sharing the four pillars through which we are driving impact. Today's pillar: Food!

The kids are out of school but that doesn't mean Operation Feed stops helping. We just pivot and provide snack bags to campers all around metro Atlanta. This is only possible through partnerships like The Del Webb Chateau Elan Veterans group and Focus Brands.
Cleveland Elementary and Dobbs Elementary School we would like to say THANK YOU for hosting Summer camps and for allowing us to provide snacks. Your teacher dedication is inspiring and greatly appreciated.

On this Motherโs Day, we would like to recognize all of our volunteers who are drivers, shoppers, partners and social workers. Without you, OFA couldnโt make the impact we do. BUT, there is one very special group of Moms we have to thank and that is our Board and Founders. This team of amazing women live and breathe social impact, and helping children suffering from food insecurity. It is their dedication and vision that makes this happen. Happy special day Michelle Larrabee Martin, Briana Sims Summers, Jennifer Cohen Kramer, Hallie Olsen, Courtney Benner, and Cali Garner Howerton.
Congrats to Karen and Juliet, two of our OFA Ambassadors who put in many hours to help our organization and their community...in addition to all of their hours spent studying and in other school organizations. We are so proud and happy to watch you represent NAHS in their annual Stellar Seniors event today.
Many thanks to North Atlanta High School and North Atlanta Parents for Public Schools for their continued commitment to these AMAZING young adults.
We are so appreciative of these efforts to help OFA in our mission to be a reliable food resource partner. This is the definition of activating our community for good. Thank you to the National Honor Society for the help!
Our NAHS National Honor Society is hosting this great event to benefit Operation Feed. Please support.
Operation Feed has distributed nearly $200k worth of food, across 7 of our 9 APS Clusters. They have built and stocked 4 in-school food pantries AND partnered with 4 separate entities providing wrap-around and/or special services to APS families.
How do we find the children & families struggling with food insecurities; social workers. Social workers help us set up food pantries in schools and tell us when to restock. Social workers identify homeless families that we shop for. Social workers are the reason we can; along with YOU. The village it takes to make Operation Feed successful is growing. The more our village grows, the more we can help. Please consider supporting us by donating time, money, food, prayers, positive energy and or love. Remember, TOGETHER we can!
It takes a village and we're so proud of the village that supports Operation Feed. In the last two weeks we've had help from Girl Scout troop 18404, Washington & Lee service group ๐, Atlanta Classical Academy basketball (2nd year in a row!) and the North Atlanta High School girls lacrosse team (pictured below). To say we're proud would be an understatement. Every one of these groups of kids is helping directly make a difference in the lives of children in their community suffering from food insecurity. Think about that for a minute: kids helping kids. It gets no better. We're proud and honored to have such a strong village.
If you or an organization you know is interested in helping us fight the food insecurity battle, please go to our website and connect with us. There's always a need.
What a pleasure it was to serve with the staff that made us who we are today. We love our E. Rivers Elementary School Lions! ๐๐ฆ๐
Girl Scout Troop 18405 steps up!!!!! Operation Feed ambassador Caroline, a former Girl Scout herself, spent an afternoon with these young ladies building snack bags for children with food insecurities. Caroline made sure the girls understood that each bag represents one child from their community. What a special moment: kids helping kids!!!
