CURE Childhood Cancer
CURE Childhood Cancer is dedicated to conquering childhood cancer through funding targeted research while supporting patients and their families.
Please join us in welcoming Matt Baker to our Board of Directors. Matt and his wife, Donna, have been great friends to CURE for several years and we are excited for him to take this leadership role. He said: “We are blessed to have two healthy children. However, we became involved with CURE over 6 years ago when my wife joined the board, and I was involved with the Believe Ball committee. Since that time, I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand the work and impact that CURE has, advancing research for a cure and aiding families battling childhood cancer. We’ve attended multiple CURE events and had the opportunity to be in the hospital and interact with families served by CURE, and I am hoping to continue our family’s work with this amazing organization. The goal is to put CURE out of business one day!”
Brit Turner was truly a heart that beat for others. To us at CURE, Brit wasn't just a supporter or a donor – he was family. He was a warrior who fought tirelessly for a cause bigger than himself. He supported families, touched countless lives, and instilled hope in so many. We’re honored and grateful that his legacy lives on. Brit’s impact on the childhood cancer community will continue to inspire us for years to come.

Our Story
In 1975, when CURE was founded, a cancer diagnosis was essentially a death sentence for a child. Thanks to continued research, survival rates have improved from just 20% in 1975 to 80% today. Still, 1 in 5 do not survive. And even when effective, current treatments are harsh and often leave survivors with life-long physical, emotional, and cognitive scars. That’s not good enough.
CURE is committed to funding innovative research that will ensure all children survive their diagnosis through less toxic treatments which will allow children a safe return to health. To accomplish this, CURE is investing more than $4.3 million annually at some of the top pediatric cancer research institutions – focusing on projects that will save lives, reduce side effects, and preserve lifetimes. Our highest priority is a precision medicine initiative, which brings individualized, gene-based treatment to children for whom traditional therapy fails. In the past 10 years CURE has funded over $25 million in research.
CURE also seeks to address the physical, emotional, and financial needs of patients and their families. Through our innovative programs, such as Open Arms Meals, Counseling Program, Family Emergency Fund, and our Bereavement Care, we walk with families devastated by childhood cancer from diagnosis and for as long as we are needed.
