Pre-Shavuot Kabbalah Class: "The Kabbalah of Cheeseburgers"
Food is such an integral part of Jewish life. Every simcha celebration, every lifecycle event, every Jewish holiday, every Shabbat, is punctuated with a lavish feast.
But while the menu for holiday and Shabbat meals typically consists of meat or chicken, on Shavuot we traditionally eat a dairy meal—followed, by some, by a second meat meal.
Why the change? Why the dairy?
Join us Sunday morning at 10:15 for a special Shavuot edition of Kabbalah Café as we delve deep inside the spiritual and psychological reasons for this custom, based on the Kabbalistic symbolism of meat and milk. We’ll explore the spiritual energies that drive these foods, and discover the mystical meaning behind the prohibition of mixing meat and milk. Plus, we’ll learn why angels and humans enjoy very different menus.

This is Gal. Gal Cohen-Solal is 37 years old. He lives in Kibbutz Re’im, a Kibbutz on the border with Gaza, near where the Nova Music Festival took place. Gal was at home with his wife and three children on October 7th. His youngest was 2 years old at the time.
That morning, close to 60 terrorists entered the Kibbutz. Hundreds more gathered just outside the Kibbutz. The terrorists tried to break into Gal's home. When they didn't succeed, they shot through the doors and windows into the house. They then set up camp in their driveway, using it as a base from which they launched brutal attacks on various locations.
Gal and his family hid inside their safe room for nearly 30 hours, trying their best to muffle their baby’s crying to stay hidden. Miraculously, they all survived.
Join us this Wednesday, May 8, as we welcome Gal to Atlanta and hear his incredible story of survival of the October 7 massacre. Bear witness to the horror and the healing, and to unimaginable Jewish strength and resilience.
This event is free of charge and is open to the entire community. RSVP: www.thetorahcenteratl.org/oct7
