Shout out to my sister for pulling up to do the funnest and funniest study skills workshop! Vee is an Academic Success Coach at the University of North Georgia so I thought it was only right to ask her to come bless us with a few pointers for successful study habits! I absolutely loved this workshop and the students did too! We had the students blow up balloons and we asked a question about study skills and if they didn’t like that study skill they would pop the balloon as tell us why. Super fun creative way to foster discussion and help students problem solve for better ways of different ways to help them succeed that work for them!
Funny story, I met my good sis Vee in 2015 in grad school at UWG and we both were doing a graduate assistantship in Residence Education and we were Roomate’s and now almost a decade later we are still thick as thieves and doing this good work with students! Thank you again Vee, you’re the GOAT !

What’s included (t shirt, food/drink)
You can select a team to be on or you can choose to create your own team, by selecting a team that doesn’t have a name on the registration portal. We have a Team Build Yourself Up and a Team Ballers and the other two teams are open for creation. YOU MUST HAVE 6 players for each team.
If you want to pay for an entire team at once it’ll be $125 total for 6 players, otherwise it is $25 per player.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to have come out to the MLK Recreation Center to talk to our Teen Leaders group about saving, investing and budgeting!
Understanding the importance of saving at a young age will put you SO FAR ahead of the curve when it comes to being prepared for life and it’s curve balls!
And not to mention we had REPRESENTATION from Regions with our guest speakers being heavily melanated. This was an important piece for me because I believe that if the students can identify or feel related to when being taught about these topics, they are more likely to take it all in.
Our workshop was a success and we will continue to do the work in the community, educating our youth on finances, entrepreneurship, professionalism, academics, and personal growth!
Thank you again and for keeping us fed!

Idk if you guys know but .yourself.up started an entrepreneurship club at Cross Keys High School!
We are fundraising now to raise money to buy our club shirts and to attend our first field trip of the year to the High Museum of Art!
May 1st we will be at Chipotle and if you love a good bowl like I do, you can make it count for a cause! Whatever you buy, 25% of your total costs will be donated to our club! You’re not spending a dime more than what you were already planning to spend!
