Congratulations to Sarah Olvin, 7th grade student in Mrs. Carroll's Lit/Comp class. She won the district-wide competition for the best Children's Book about a historical event. Her book is titled "The Exclusion Zone" and details events from Chernobyl. Thank you CCSD for sponsoring this competition each year. 🌟

One of our students at Freedom MS has earned an art opportunity courtesy of a local sponsor based on their artwork displayed in the CCSD Festival of the Arts this past weekend. Congratulations to these eighth-grade students for winning the March and April Buzz Blitz challenges from Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI)! Each of these students submitted the most accurate explanations or the most creative and rigorous investigation plans, as judged by GTRI staff. These students received an exclusive golden ticket invitation to the 2024 Legendary STEM Tour at Georgia Tech this summer!

Congratulations to our Masters of Math for the month of April! These students aren’t afraid to show what they know in their math classrooms – they try hard and take advantage of every learning opportunity they get.

What are we learning at Freedom this week? Take a peek into Mrs. Zipperer’s 6th grade social studies class where students are “diving into trash” to understand the environmental issues facing the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
