Congratulations to Orezime Uyeh on attaining her MD degree from Michigan State University College of Medicine. Rezi was a 2019 graduate of our MBMS Program.

Study Abroad Clinical Interns 2024. This is half the MBMS / Dual Degree Medical Sciencd group. Some students are already in Greece getting a head start. After a long travel day (20 hours), we arrived in Heraklion Crete for an overnight. Today we head to Ierapetra for hospital rotations all week. Stay tuned! capstone Biology

These amazing GSU Masters in Biology Medical Science graduates start their first year of medical school at GHSU in Augusta. Congratulations Alexandra Carleton (MBMS 2021) and Daniel Moncada (MBMS 2022). Alex and Daniel were also GTAs for Human Physiology Lab and Pathophysiology. Daniel was also a GTA Atlas student for Study Abroad Clinical Internships in Greece, 2022.

Best of luck to these Spring 2023 GSU MBMS graduates. Karan Saluja was a GTA for Surgical Anatomy for two years and GTA for Clinical Internship in Greece in 2023 and is off to Midwestern University Chicago School of Osteopathic Medicine. He intends to pursue pain management through OMT. Demetria Walker was a GTA for Human Physiology Lab for two years. She will be attending Morehouse SOM this fall. And Jayetta Lovett was a GTA for Human Physiology Lab for 2 years and a GTA for the 2023 Clinical Internship in Greece. She is currently applying to medical school. Bravo to these exceptional people!!!

Dustin is completing his MBMS capstone at DCMEx.

Please welcome our 2023 Summer Forensic Intern! 🔬

Dustin is graduating from Georgia State University in summer 2023 with his Master’s Degree in biology. His past research experiences include investigation of the role of protein turnover in neuroinflammatory pathways and the molecular underpinnings of cardiomyocyte dedifferentiation at Georgia State University and Colorado University Anschutz Medical Campus, respectively. His goal is to attend medical school after graduating and will continue working as an Emergency Medical Technician before starting his first year of medical school.

Today we attended a lecture by Dr. Michael Makaroun, Professor of Surgery and Clinical and Translational Science, Chair in Vascular Surgery
Director, Endovascular Surgery Program, University of Pittsburg Medical School. He lectured on EVAR failure rates.

Yesterday was spent at National Kapodistrian Medical School where faculty had tours and simulation labs arranged for our MBMS interns.

Our interns also grossed this huge ovarian teratoma today. This was part of their Patho anatomy rotation.

The month of May our MBMS interns do clinical rotations in Greece. Here are two of our Dual Degree students Aliyah Bujung and Zoe Bachiller (recipient of the 2023 Kevin Brady Premed Scholarship). Their vascular rotation involved a femoral artery stent placement and laparoscopic repair of aortic aneurism.

MBMS grad, author, and current medical student, Orezime Uyeh, is still inspiring others to pursue medicine.

Surgical Anatomy group exam. They discuss each case like real surgical conferences. It’s a pleasure to hear them use medical terminology and put their analytical skills to work.

And that’s the wrap! Awesome Surgical Anatomy class! We are ready for clinicals in Greece!!!
