❤️‍🩹🐻 Bear Update! 🐻❤️‍🩹

He is with a
✨️Fantastic Foster✨️ and being given excellent care, of course! Huge shout-out to a wonderful donor who gave us a super high quality orthopedic doggy recovery bed for him, as well as a bunch of other stuff! It all came just in time, and Bear went straight to the bed and curled up. 🥹

Thankfully he has some pain blockers in place that will last a few days, and is on oral pain meds as well so we can keep him as comfortable as possible through the difficult immediate post-op time. He is facing a 12 week recovery. 🥺🙏

We HATE seeing our Pals in pain, but we are counting the days til he feels fantastic and isn't suffering daily with that blown ligament!

We are so thankful to the wonderful staff at Animal Medical Care , and to his amazing surgeon Dr. Allen of Palmetto Veterinary Specialists for fixing up our Bear! 💖

We could still use some help with his bill if anyone is able to chip in a few bucks. 💰

📣💖 We just got word that Bear is out of surgery and everything went great!!!!!
🎉🐻🎉

While we're waiting for the ok to pick him up we wanted to mention that 2 of our other Pals have appts today, too!

First there's adorable Bowie. His skin is SO much better and he looks great!! But... now it was discovered that he was suffering with some really bad ear infections. 😭 He's going back for a re-check today and we're hoping to hear that those are cleared up as well!

Then there's our sweet boy Rocket. We've consulted with several of our vets because his positive heartworm result was extremely light..
So today he's going in for a re-test, with microscope, and we will see what is found and what the best course of action is.

So as long as you're all sending out the positivity for Bear, please throw some in for Bowie & Rocket, too! 🥰

Just left our sweet
🐻Bear 🐻 in the wonderful hands of Animal Medical Care , where he is waiting for his specialist surgeon to arrive. 🏥

📣 We have one more very special Happy Tails announcement from the weekend!! 📣

The last of Momma Mia's boys, Luigi, has also found his perfect home! And guess what... it's the one he's been in since he was 4 days old.. yes, he is officially a Foster Fail!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

His family is fantastic, wonderful, AND amazing (all 3!) and we are thrilled that our not-so-little guy (maybe dad was a great dane???) will stay with them forever, and his human brother gets to keep him after being so wonderful with the pups, and so brave after having to say goodbye to "his" other 2 pups that he loves, Mario & River Meatball. 🥰

Luigi's new name is Duck (there's a story behind that!) and we are so happy that he's been home all along. 💖🐾💖

We can't believe it took this long for sweet baby boy Meatball to find his family, but once the perfect one came along it all made sense! 😊

He's got his very own boy to play and grow up with, and a mom and dad who both work in the veterinary field! 🤩

We are so thrilled that our little water-loving boy, now named River (Meatball will be kept as his middle name 😅), also gets to live on a lake!

All of this adds up to yet another perfect family for another Pal. 🥰

🐝Busy (and fun!) day yesterday!!! 🐝

So we're starting off today catching up with posts from yesterday, 😂, and first up is a big announcement...

Our sweetest little (non)outlaw, Jesse James, found his perfect family!!! 🤠😍🐶💖

If we sat around all day trying to dream up the best home for him we still wouldn't have come close to this one! 💭💞

His new very active family is going to be taking him everywhere! Camping, hiking, kids' sports, and he's even gonna get to go to school with his mom, who's a teacher, and might even get trained as a therapy dog there! 🤩🏆

JJ is a super smart, active little pup and we know he's going to THRIVE with his new brothers, mom, and dad! 🥹

Well we'd like to think we had something to do with it, but we didn't! 😂

While Jolene was waiting to get picked up by one of our
⭐️ Fantastic Volunteers ⭐️, a client of Animal Medical Care came in for an appointment with their dog, saw her behind the counter, instantly fell in love, and ADOPTED HER!!! 😍😍🎉

We are so thrilled for her, and for the staff at AMC who love her because now they'll still get to take care of her! 🥰

📣 Late Breaking News!!!📣

Our wonderful vet partner Animal Medical Care has asked for our help with a little homeless girl they saved.

Yes, our intake is still closed 😭, but this is a special case that we can't say no to! This baby needs and deserves a home asap, and AMC will help us by continuing to care for her while we find her perfect family! 🥰

So please meet Pal # 72 (are you ready to get a song stuck in your head? 😆) : Jolene! 🎶

Jolene is a sweet, adorable, spunky little tripod, about 1 year old, and weighing in at around 10 lbs. 🥹

A good samaritan witnessed her get hit by a car, and the driver just kept right on going. 🤬

Thankfully the witness was a caring and decent human being, and she scooped her up and took her to AMC. 😇

Also thankfully, the compassionate doctors there did not turn her away, but took her right in and tended to her injuries, which included needing to amputate her front leg. ❤️‍🩹

As is usually the case with tripods, it hasn't slowed miss Jolene down one bit! ⚡️

The staff at AMC tried to find her owner, but no one ever came forward. Now she has been living at the hospital since May, and we are very excited to help get her into a loving home with a family of her own! 😄

And guess what, if you'd like to meet this little lady she will be with us at StillFire Brewing all weekend! 🤩

Only thing, ladies, we can't promise she won't take your man.. 😉

🌛 Nighty-night from our babies Annie, Oliver, Polly, Pearl, & Peter! 😴💕🥹

🩺 Today was Spay and Neuter day for 3 of our Pals, Simon, Daphne, and Louise! 🥰

We are thrilled to have been able to put an end to the breeding they were all subjected to up until they were rescued! 🚫💖

Of course surgery costs money, and their teeth really needed to be cleaned, too, as long as they were under. 😁👍

As always, any contributions - and no amount is too small! - would be welcome!!

We got a one-time, great deal today, but this month is an extremely expensive one for us with so many of our Pals needing major vet care. Today's bill was about $1k, last week with Hope was over $2k, and next week is Bear's surgery, which will be around $3.5k. And that doesn't include various visits for some of our other Pals. 😬

📣 Announcing Pals # 70 & 71! 📣 (woops! 😂)

Yes, our intake is closed.. but when the Rescue Coordinator at Hall County Animal Services asked if we could help with 2 newborn pups that were brought to the shelter near closing time on Sat..... well what could we say?? ❤️

Our first thought was: Penelope! Maybe we can put them with her and her babies! But then we realized how big they are.... 😮😅

Then we thought... what about Momma Mia?? She recently weaned her boys, and we checked and she still has milk!
🥛

So we said we'd give it a shot and see if she would accept them. She was such a wonderful mom with her own pups that we were hopeful her instincts would kick in for these babies. 🙏

The results have been pretty positive overall! 😃

BUT, we are worried that she may not have enough milk, or be able to start producing more as these little chunkers grow. She's also kind of confused by the whole thing.. 🥺

Thankfully we have yet another 🌟 Fantastic Foster🌟 who is continuing to support Mia as she tries to figure out why the heck she suddenly has more babies 😵‍💫 AND to supplement with bottle feedings as needed! 🍼

🐶Pom Pup Pupdate🐶

Just wanted to let everyone know that Penelope's babies,
Polly, Peter, and Pearl are doing great and packing on the ounces! 😅🥰

Polly has gone from 5.4 -> 9.4
Peter has gone from 4.7 -> 8.4
Pearl has gone from 5.8 -> 10.1

They also somehow get more adorable by the second! 😍

As far as applications, we have had many coming in but we won't start processing til they are at least 8 weeks (they are 1 week today!), so please hold off for now. Thank you! 🙏❤️

🍑GA Pals, we need help!

We need volunteers in general, but one area that we REALLY need urgently is

and we need it as soon as tomorrow!

🩺 Had a surprise vet visit with Dr. Dodson at PetCare Animal Hospital this morning.

Our Momma Pom, Penelope, wasn't feeling well and having some major tummy troubles this morning. They said to bring her right in to get checked out, so we did! 🚙💨

We are so thankful to have such great vet partners who really care!!! 🙏❤️

Penelope got some special food and she checked out fine otherwise! She gobbled some up as soon as we got home and seems better already! 🥰🐾

🐾❤️‍🩹 Hope UPDATE ❤️‍🩹🐾

Our resilient girl made it through her surgery and her wonderful surgeon at SurgiPet said all went well! 🙏

She was under anesthesia for so long for the 2 FHOs that they were unable to work on the dental issue, but we will deal with that later.

For now our sweet girl has a bit of a rough road ahead with a long recovery and lots of daily physical therapy.

✨️We are SO THANKFUL for her amazing foster family who has already taken such great care of her, and are committed to doing everything needed to get her through this so she can have a happy and pain-free life! 🥰

She cried in the car the whole way back to her foster home, it was so heart wrenching. 😭

Once she was there she knew she was back where she is loved and cared for and she stopped crying. 🥹

She has a lot of pain meds of different types so hopefully she can be kept comfortable through these difficult early post-op days. We know she's in great hands and anything they can do for her, they will! 💖

We can't wait to see her run and play when the time comes! 🥰🤗

🏥 Please keep our sweet Hope in your thoughts today. Just left her for her first surgery, a bilateral FHO. 🙏

Her pelvis is broken, and the "ball" (aka femoral head) that goes in the hip socket on one side is completely displaced, now sitting above the socket. 😭

On the other side, the socket is broken, so the ball/head is grinding in there on broken bone. 😭

Both cause terrible pain and (obviously!) affect her mobility. 😭

The surgery today is to remove both femoral heads, leaving the sockets empty and hopefully removing all the pain and restoring range of motion.

She also has a dental issue that will require bone removal, which may or may not be done today, depending on how she does with anesthesia. 😭

And down the road she still has heartworm treatment, spay ( Hall County Animal Services offered to do those for her 🙏) mammary mass removal/biopsy, and (found out today) hernia repair. The bbs found in her body will be left alone.

This poor girl, for all she has been through she NEVER complains, and is nothing but 100% sweet to everyone. 🥹🥰

We know we keep asking for donations for medical expenses and we are so grateful to everyone who has helped out! If anyone else would like to chip in, any amount, even $1, will help! Thank you! ❤️

🌠Wishlist🌠, and today's Pal is our boy Chico! 🐶🎁

This sweetheart has a terrible backstory of neglect and abandonment. After being tied to a tree for his entire 4ish years of life, his "family" then moved away after a house fire and left him there, tied up where he'd always been!! 🤬🤬🤬

But those days are gone, and Chico is with one of our
🦸‍♀️Fabulous Fosters🦸‍♀️now, being pampered, spoiled, and most importantly LOVED! 💖

Chico has some vision impairment that we're working on finding out if we can improve with surgery. Other than that he is SUCH a good boy!! Dog friendly, kid friendly, a great little compact size, and a snuggler on top of all that! 🥰

Even if it turns out that we can't fix his vision, this is a PERFECT boy for any family! 🤓

🐾Pom Pup Update!🐾

We have 2 little girls and an even littler boy! ♀️♂️♀️

Penelope is still very nervous with them being handled, so we only got to do an individual photo shoot with the little golden girl when momma didn't realize.. 😉

All are extremely squirmy and doing great! Penelope finally came out of her nest this morning and let me take her outside for 2 seconds to relieve herself before wanting to race back to her pups. She really is a great momma! 🥰

Wellllllll...... remember yesterday when we said we still had 3 Pomeranians? 🤔

And remember when we said there was a chance that Penelope was pregnant and we were going to take her in for an ultrasound this week? 🩻

Well, Penelope was so worried about our rising vet expenses that she saved us the trouble!! 😮

Ladies & Gentlemen, we have just doubled our Pomeranian population with the addition of Penelope's 3 pups, who were born overnight! 🥹🥹🥹

She is a little unhappy about hands coming near her babies and we don't want to upset her, so we don't know sexes yet.

They are all vigorously suckling away and look healthy from what we see! 🙏🥰💖
