Being a mom is the biggest joy in my life 💙

What makes it even sweeter perhaps, is that my amazing mom is such a huge part of our lives❣️

I must say that my boys are pretty amazing little beings and that is in large part because of their Mimi! And if I’m a good mom, then that’s because of her too!

Today I am thankful for the little ones who make me a mom, but also to be my wonderful mom’s child. It doesn’t escape me that both are gifts ❣️

💫Women Making History💫
As we close out women’s history month and spring into April, this is the month that I opened Steele Dermatology 9 YEARS ago! Whew!

When I graduated from residency, I didn’t necessarily know how I wanted to practice—in a small group, in a large group, on my own? I finished residency in 2009 (remember the Great Recession?). A lot of practices weren’t expanding or really hiring. So, I found a job and started practicing general dermatology in a small satellite office on the south side of Atlanta off of Cleveland Ave 👀…IYKYK. Let’s just say it was not the premiere location 😬

After a year or so of practicing general derm in that location and then moving to Camp Creek and Windy Hill for a minute, I joined a plastic surgeon in Roswell and started to develop my skills in cosmetic procedures. A couple of years later in 2015, I was ready to spread my wings and fly, i.e. open my own practice and do things my own way.

I can’t remember who it was, but someone said, “you should talk to .coreyhartman !” and connected us. He did what he does and told me the truth about opening a practice and also, encouraged me and motivated me to just do it. Thank you .coreyhartman 🫶🏽, do you remember that?

Steele Dermatology was born! Now that the practice is almost a decade old, now that I’m married with two kids, now that we have two large luxe offices in Alpharetta and Buckhead, and now that I’m part of the educational training faculty, sometimes I forget what the journey was like!

I am a woman making history 👩🏽‍⚕️. It feels like I’m just doing what I do—trying to find ways to create a better experience and better results for my patients, trying to go to new heights and extend my reach in my field. The journey continues…

p.s. I still love seeing patients who saw me back in the Cleveland Ave. days (or any other little office in which I worked from back in the day) and come find me 10-15 years later 🥰. It absolutely warms my heart.

The goals of most procedures and treatments include lifting.

Why?

Because everything slides down over time. For everyone.

Even when people are seeing loose skin under the chin, it’s often because everything above it is sliding down and making it look looser and fuller. The treatment plan may involve ways to lift the skin in the upper/entire face, not just to treat the area under the chin.

I almost never fill only the nasolabial folds because it’s just not a natural look.

Instead, I look for the areas that I need to rejuvenate 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥/𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘷𝘦/𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘸 the fold that may be contributing to a heavy look.

Everyone can use a little lip filler 🤗

We all lose volume in our lips over time just like we lose volume in the cheeks, chin, temple…well, everywhere really

So, if you think your lips are smaller, less full, less visible then they used to be…you’re right!

Even people with naturally beautiful lips (this patient) sometimes want a little more…and the results are amazing 😻

There comes a point when the cheek starts to break. When we’re young, the cheek has a nice smooth contour and at some point a line/a break/a pocket or whatever you want to call it starts to develop. Basically, your cheek isn’t smooth and continuous anymore.

Well, that’s where I come in 💉🤗
This happens because of volume loss and volume shifts, so I artfully restore and replenish!

It doesn’t hurt to do a little chin for balance 😉

…and remove the moles for smoothness and evenness 🤗
