House group unveils bipartisan mental health, addiction legislative plan - Roll Call A bipartisan group of 144 House lawmakers plans to unveil their agenda for expanding mental health care and combating the drug epidemic.
SFG is lucky to have brilliant, diverse, and creative set of people from all over the country working to ensure clients receive the best services possible!
The team met up in Atlanta last week to work on projects, perfect our organizational process, and brainstorm ideas for the future for SFG.

Targeted Capacity Expansion HIV: Substance Use Disorder Treatment for Racial/Ethnic Minority Women at High Risk for HIV/AIDS | SAMHSA
Congrats to Recovery Consultants of Atlanta, Inc. on its U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Targeted Capacity Expansion HIV: Substance Use Disorder Treatment for Racial/Ethnic Minority Women at High Risk for HIV/AIDS award of $500,000 a year for 3 years.
RCA is one of Atlanta’s leading providers of behavioral healthcare and HIV services for hard-to reach populations and provides services to 6,000 people annually in metro Atlanta. With this award, RCA will serve African American women living in Clayton, DeKalb, and Fulton Counties who have co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders and high risk for HIV due to homelessness, victimization from domestic violence and human trafficking, a
history of other trauma exposure (i.e., ACEs), prior incarceration or institutionalization, and
poverty. The program will package safe, stable housing (for lengths of stay of at least six months) with evidence-based, gender-specific, culturally-competent, trauma-informed behavioral health treatment, HIV and
Hepatitis testing and counseling, HIV/Hepatitis prevention and treatment, medical care, medical case management, peer mentoring, recovery supports, supportive services, housing supports, and aftercare.
RCA will provide outreach, substance abuse screening, and HIV testing to 1,500 women in the community-at-large, and residential treatment and a broad range of HIV and recovery services to 72 minority women annually, (for a total of 216 women over the 3-year grant period).
