We recently learned of a community of people that had to flee their homes due to gang violence. They were living in a school. We supported the local pastor and a community leader who wanted to provide food for the children. We did this with donations from our Crisis Relief Fund and our Haiti Metal Market sales. The UN reports 160,000 people have been displaced since January in Haiti.

Thanks to your support of our Haiti Crisis Fund and our Haitian Metal sales we have been able to install solar lights in some neighborhoods giving them security and light in the darkness. We have also distributed meals to 200 individuals which is shared among many more people, helped several teachers with medical needs, and paid all of our teachers extra this month and last to help with rising prices of basic needs.

We are praying for the day our school will be full of kids laughing and learning again.
The current crisis in Haiti has shut down the capital city. Our hearts are broken for the people who are suffering. The Prime Minister has called for international assistance. The teachers and staff are safe yet unable to leave their homes without the threat of violence in the streets.
Hip hip hooray! Itโs the last day of school at the Good Shepherd School. Itโs been quite a year!
Our students and teachers are resilient, courageous, and dedicated to the importance and value of education. We are so grateful.
Despite the chaos and difficulties throughout the country with gangs shutting down roads, blocking gasoline from being distributed, violence, kidnappings, high prices, and scarcity of food and water. Through all these challenges, the staff and students persevered and showed up for class unless the school was closed for safety reasons.
We have lots to celebrate including:
