Schools across the capital city are closed due to gang violence and the state of emergency. We are not able to cook and serve food to the children but we are handing out bags of food to cook at home for families in the neighborhood. We keep going.

Enjoying a beautiful day at The Main Street Festival sharing awesome Haiti-made products! Grateful to support the artisan communities and the Good Shepherd School.

We recently learned of a community of people that had to flee their homes due to gang violence. They were living in a school. We supported the local pastor and a community leader who wanted to provide food for the children. We did this with donations from our Crisis Relief Fund and our Haiti Metal Market sales. The UN reports 160,000 people have been displaced since January in Haiti.

Some of our favorite moments of 2022! It was a very challenging year but we faced it with trust and perseverance to fight for kids in Haiti. Education, jobs and opportunity will help Haiti rise above her current circumstances. Please continue to keep Haiti and The Good Shepherd School in your thoughts and prayers!

With your help we distributed food on Christmas morning at the Good Shepherd Church - a welcomed gift as food prices have soared in Haiti.

Thanks to your support of our Haiti Crisis Fund and our Haitian Metal sales we have been able to install solar lights in some neighborhoods giving them security and light in the darkness. We have also distributed meals to 200 individuals which is shared among many more people, helped several teachers with medical needs, and paid all of our teachers extra this month and last to help with rising prices of basic needs.

Itโ€™s been a dark time in Haiti and these lights represent goodness and hope and peace and Jesus - the light of the world!

We are praying for the day our school will be full of kids laughing and learning again.

The current crisis in Haiti has shut down the capital city. Our hearts are broken for the people who are suffering. The Prime Minister has called for international assistance. The teachers and staff are safe yet unable to leave their homes without the threat of violence in the streets.

06/17/2022

Hip hip hooray! Itโ€™s the last day of school at the Good Shepherd School. Itโ€™s been quite a year!

Our students and teachers are resilient, courageous, and dedicated to the importance and value of education. We are so grateful.

Despite the chaos and difficulties throughout the country with gangs shutting down roads, blocking gasoline from being distributed, violence, kidnappings, high prices, and scarcity of food and water. Through all these challenges, the staff and students persevered and showed up for class unless the school was closed for safety reasons.

We have lots to celebrate including:
๐ŸŽ‰33 seniors graduating soon!
๐ŸŽ‰an afternoon reading club
๐ŸŽ‰a Service Day to clean up the neighborhood
๐ŸŽ‰a thriving Young Life club for the teenagers
๐ŸŽ‰Girls Club and Campaigners
๐ŸŽ‰Soccer club
๐ŸŽ‰ and much more!

Thanks to all our faithful supporters for your prayer and financial gifts to keep the school running! Mesi Mesi!
