When a care partner does not attend to their own needs or take time off from the caregiving role, they may find themselves experiencing caregiver burnout. Burnout is a state of physical, emotional and mental exhaustion.
Today for National Caregivers Month, and learn the signs of caregiver burnout. If you start to notice these signs in a care partner in your life, initiate a conversation with them and point them to resources that can help. On November 11, the Georgia Chapter hosted a Parkinson's Foundation Korean 101 program in Duluth.
Through the support and hard work of Parkinson's Foundation Ambassador, Haejin Ban, over 36 members of the North Georgia Parkinson's community registered! Thank you to Dr. Joash Lazarus who presented on Parkinson's disease, receiving a diagnosis, the importance of exercise and deep brain stimulation.
Caregiving can be an intensive endeavor, from the physical, mental, emotional, and even financial aspects of it. Just as people with Parkinson’s disease need support services, their care partners do, too.
