Our Houston Peer Mentors spent two days learning about each other and the Earth Tomorrow Summer Institute ahead of this week’s program. We are excited to include amongst our young professionals 4 alumni who participated in NWF education programming. They’re all ready to bring their lived experience and education to helping participants understand environmental justice.

We invite rising 10th-grade to 12th-grade students to apply for our week-long intensive residential experience!
Participants spend the week on a college campus with field trips to surrounding areas and a campout. Past summer institutes have included leadership development, outdoor activities, a college and career fair, speakers, and environmental education. 🛶 🏕️
Every student accepted to the summer institute will be provided a full $1,800 scholarship to attend the event at NO COST.

Earth Tomorrow Forest Park & their New FarmBot!🤖🚜
In the last Forest Park Club meeting members built the frame for their new FarmBot farming system. ⛏️🪚🌱
FarmBot is an open-source agriculture CNC farming project consisting of a robot farming machine. The project aims to create an open and accessible technology aiding everyone to grow food and to grow food for everyone.

Congratulations to Forest Park High School’s Earth Tomorrow Club .fphs for getting first place in our Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Their prize for the best environmentally-themed pumpkin is $500. 🏆🎃
We received over 250 votes total on all pumpkins submitted. Special thanks to Morrow High School’s Earth Tomorrow club .mhs for participating in the contest and making it a success. 👻

Calling all Earth Tomorrow clubs in the Metro Atlanta area! 🎃 Decorate your best environmentally-themed pumpkin to win $500 from the National Wildlife Federation.
Voting will take place at Woodland High School at our Trick or Vote event . Anyone who participates in the Trick or Vote will have the opportunity to cast a 🦇"Batlot" for the best decorated pumpkin. Voting will close by 8pm on the 28th and the winner of the contest will be announced on our Instagram page.
Rules for entry:
🎃 Only 1 entry per school
🎃 No pre-decorated pumpkins (all painting/decorating must be done by club members)
🎃 Carving allowed
🎃Must be environmentally-themed
🎃Be creative and have fun!
The last day to submit your pumpkin is Friday, October 28 by 5:30pm at Woodland High School in Stockbridge, Ga.

The Earth Tomorrow Fall Leadership Camp Out took place last weekend at Stone Mountain Park. There was hiking, yoga, fishing, camping, leadership development, and more! 🎣

First, they cleaned up the streets of Clayton County Georgia to reduce litter and restore the appearance of their community. Then they went on a walking tour of the Atlanta BeltLine, courtesy of TeamTrees. 🧹🌲

This last month, Earth Tomorrow Tucker focused on the environmental aspects of digital technology! 🌏
They discussed energy usage and then created flyers to educate other students about how to reduce their digital carbon footprint.

Earth Tomorrow students volunteered at an Atlanta community days event as part of the Outdoor Adventurers program, a nationwide partnership between National Wildlife Federation, The Y, and Bass Pro Shops Cabela's🎣
As part of the program, Bass Pro Cabela's transforms local YMCA fields around the country into outdoor recreation playgrounds, complete with catch and release fishing, archery, and even kayaking in swimming pools! 🛶
Earth Tomorrow students helped metro Atlanta youth and their families spend quality time together and learn more about the outdoors!
