Why does He look so mangled? So unrecognizable as a man? So tormented and disfigured? Why do all His bones look out of joint? Because He who had never sinned is now cursed, bearing the curse of all mankind. For all time. So that you and I don’t have to be. On this Cross.
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree.’” And “ For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” Here on this tree, Jesus took on Himself every curse due to us, and in exchange, He gave us every blessing due to Him. As He pushes up on His nail-pierced feet and gravity tears the flesh at the holes in His wrists, He is the curse-breaking Messiah, pouring out blessing.

What an incredible devotional this is just a small piece of the prayer at the end of day 17
It a heavy thought to meditate on.

“Jesus, On the Cross, You took on Yourself every curse of mankind brought about through generational or individual sin. And from the Cross, You offer blessing in exchange. But while it is God’s desire that none should perish, there’s a condition. Repentance. Where there is repentance, there is forgiveness-and the breaking of the curse. Where there is no repentance, there is no forgiveness, and the curse remains.”

This is a prayer for myself and others. Jesus helps us prioritize our time with You so others recognize we spend time with You.
