On June 6, 1944, the Allies launched the long-anticipated invasion of Normandy, France. Soldiers from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other Allied nations faced Hitler's formidable Atlantic Wall as they landed on the beaches of Normandy.

Earlier today, we once again honored National Foster Care Awareness Month, with our newest partners at the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Marietta - Roswell Alumnae Chapter. They collected so many needed rolling suitcases, backpacks and reading books for the foster children of Cobb County, Georgia DFCS.
Totes to Tots Inc. thanked each one of these wonderful sorors for their sacrifice and service, and for choosing our cause as one of their many humanitarian service projects.

In honor of National Foster Care Awareness Month, we thank the students Kelly Mill Elementary School seven 1st grade classes, for embracing this community effort as their humanitarian service project.
These Forsyth County first graders collected over 80 backpacks, suitcases for local foster children Students at Kelly Mill Elementary School cheered in excitement Friday morning as they walked into the auditorium and saw colorful backpacks, suitcases and boxes filled with donations covering the stage.
Once again in honor of National Foster Care Awareness Month, Kelly Mill Elementary School partnered with Totes to Tots Inc. and the Georgia Department of Human Services External Engagement & Outreach to help give back to foster children in Forsyth County. Since the month of April, over 200 1st grade students along with the PTO Board of Directors, teachers and staff began collecting backpacks, rolling suitcases and supportive care items.
This morning we held a ceremony to honor and recognize these students for their dedication and efforts while helping us, help foster children in crisis. Hundreds of supportive care items were collected and distributed today. The students were also able to meet and hear CBS46Atlanta own News Anchor Blair Miller as he served as our special guest speaker. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this day memorable.

Totes to Tots Inc., was honored to be a guest speaker today, this time at Jeff Davis County Retired Educators Unit Meeting. We shared our passion of this meaningful cause, emphasizing the importance of eliminating the stigma that foster children carry their personal belongings in a trash bag. We are so grateful and appreciative to Jeff Davis members for their genuine hospitality, and support they’ve provided . Totes also donated car seats and pack and plays to be distributed to the Department of Human Services (DFCS) Jeff Davis County, Georgia.

Our Story
Totes to Tots is an annual drive, hosted by Georgia Cancer Specialists. We collect new backpacks and suitcases for foster children in Georgia. More than 14,000 children, from infants to teenagers, are currently in the foster care system in Georgia. Many of these children shuffle their belongings in garbage bags when they are removed from their homes. Since Totes to Tots launched in 2003, the annual volunteer event has collected and distributed more than 60,000 bags.
We partner with the Department of Family and Children Services to distribute the bags in the communities in which they're collected.
