We want to shed light on, and help celebrate GKSA member Dr. Farai Mlambo with

Dr. Farai Mlambo, a distinguished Mathematical Statistician and Senior Lecturer at Wits Business School, overcame significant hardships after losing both parents at a young age and experiencing multiple school expulsions due to misbehavior. Despite these early challenges, his elder brother's guidance led him to excel academically, eventually earning a Zimbabwean presidential bursary to study at Nelson Mandela University, where he graduated Cum Laude.

Dr. Mlambo's impressive academic journey continued with honors and master's degrees, supported by his roles as a tutor and lecturer. His PhD in Mathematical Statistics further solidified his academic prowess, earning him teaching excellence awards at Wits University. Dr. Mlambo has mentored over 5000 students and currently supervises multiple postgraduate students.

On July 1, 2024, he joined Wits Business School as a Senior Lecturer in Digital Business, pursuing a second PhD in Computer Science. Dedicated to helping others, he founded Statistics 4 non-Statisticians and is known for his classroom humor. His inspirational story underscores the power of resilience, faith, and education in overcoming life's obstacles.

We are thrilled to introduce Scottie Emmert, a fourth-year medical student at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, who has been honored with the 2023 Graduate Scholar Award from Golden Key International Honour Society. This well-deserved scholarship will support Scottie in his final year of medical school and his transition into an Orthopaedic Surgery residency.

Graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Medical Sciences from the University of Cincinnati in 2019, Scottie has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and academic excellence. His accolades include the Presidential Leadership Medal of Excellence and the Goldwater Scholarship. Inducted into Golden Key during his freshman year, Scottie has greatly valued the society for its leadership opportunities and the lifelong friendships he has formed.
