We are beyond excited to announce our 2024 Cool Girl of the Year, Jovita Bell. Jovita joined Cool Girls in the 2nd grade. She was an active member of Cool Girls from the start, participating in Girls Club, Cool Sisters, Camp Pink, and Cool Scholars. A recipient of the Cool Girls Scholarship and a Posse Scholar, Jovita is a junior at Brandeis University majoring in Neuroscience on the pre-dental track.
She is an active member of her student body as a health coordinator for Advocates 4 Health, a peer advocate at the Prevention, Advocacy and Research Center (PARC), co-founder of Da Book Collective (book club), and an active member of Brandeis’ Black Student Organization and African Student Organization. Jovita is passionate about advocating for health inequities and disparities that disproportionately impact the health and wellness of marginalized groups and this is evident by her campus and volunteer activism.
When asked about her participation in Cool Girls, Jovita shared:
"I wouldn’t be the person I am today without Cool Girls. Cool Girls was one of the first organizations that saw the potential of greatness within me and has constantly pushed me and provided me with resources and opportunities to reach my goals. Cool Girls taught me how to fully engage in my environment and has prepared me to be a leader. Without the love and guidance of Cool Girls, I would not be able to immerse myself in this new journey of my life."
Jovita, we are so proud of the phenomenal woman you are becoming. We can’t wait to celebrate you at this year’s Hot Pink Party.
Empower girls, change the world! This , let's celebrate all the incredible women and girls around the globe who are making a difference.
