MORE BIG NEWS! ☘️
With just TWO weeks to go before step off, we love having such exciting news to share! Joining us on the parade route as one of our 2024 special guests will be Retired Professional Footballer Niall Quinn!
We are incredibly honored to have this sports LEGEND be a part of this year’s festivities!
Throughout his sporting career, Niall played for Arsenal, Manchester City and Sunderland AFC, and earned 92 caps for the Republic of Ireland national football team. Niall represented the Republic of Ireland in the UEFA European Football Championship Finals 1988, and two FIFA World Cup in 1990 and 2002. He remains Ireland’s second highest goal-scorer of all time and is an inductee of the Hall of Fame at Manchester City and Sunderland AFC.
Help us welcome him to the parade family!
And special thanks to O’Sullivan’s Decatur Square for their help in making it all happen!
This Friday’s post is dedicated to family, specifically The O’Riordan family!
For 50 years and 6 generations, the O’Riordans - one of the oldest Irish families in Atlanta - have celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with us!
“My grandfather actually entered the parade for the first time in 1971,” said Mike O’Riordan. “My dad continued the tradition and now my five siblings and I always participate. It’s become a rite of passage.”
Just as much as we’ve become a part of their annual tradition, we’ve loved having them be a part of ours!
So cheers to one of our parade faves! 🍻☘️
Happy ! May the luck of the Irish be with you on this extra-special day. 🌈💚
Bonus: Looks like you also have an extra 24 hours to get your parade plans in order... 😉 Get ready - we’re leaping into March with big parade energy!
A little wet weather never rained on our parade!
The Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade is a rain or shine event, and our parade participants put on a show (and big smiles) no matter the conditions! (Our parade-goers too!)
Now let’s get these rainy days out of the way, so the sun will shine brightly - and warmly! - on our route March 16th! 💚
One of the highlights of the parade every year is showcasing the diverse individuals and organizations that make up the Atlanta Irish community.
In 2019, these champs - the Atlanta Clan na Ngael - served as our grand marshals, coming off of a 2018 US Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) Junior C Football Championship.
We’re excited to welcome them back this year as parade participants!
“Our club is more than a sports club, it is a diverse community of people from the US, Ireland and other countries, coming together for the love of gaelic sports. We are proud to have built an environment where all are welcome, including our players’ friends and family.”
– Ray Tracey, Atlanta Clan na nGael Chairman
We're looking for a few more volunteers at the parade on March 16. If interested, please drop us a line at [email protected]
