No one will know until 2 minutes before the play begins! Part improv, mostly Shakespeare, and all the outrageousness our team of trained Shakespeare actors can pull out of their…hat.
And sometimes there’s a dog. (Update: there WILL be a dog!)

A Relaxed Performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream next Saturday!
Saturday August 24, 2024, 2:30pm.
Limited Lunch menu available from 1:15pm until 2:20pm
Our Relaxed performances have been curated especially for enjoyment by those audience members with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), other sensory-related concerns or any patron who may need to move around or react audibly during the show.
The house lights will never go completely dark, and loud, abrupt noises denoted in the script will be modified to a less intense level. A quiet room will be available adjacent to the lobby for use by patrons at any time during their visit to the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse.
There will be a variety of chair textures throughout the building, a variety of items that patrons can hold onto during the show like playdough, inflatable toys, and manipulatives of various textures, and we start the performance off with an introduction to the actors and the characters they will be playing.
There's also an expectation of differing needs here - if a patron needs to step out, will make sounds during the show, or needs to move around some to be comfortable, this is the show for them. No matter why a patron may need a more welcoming environment, we are happy to offer it..
