👋 Meet Charaina! She’s working hard in her stable and supportive job at a local healthcare provider. Recently, she earned a significant pay increase and secured a new apartment. Charaina's hard work is all about her kids, Riley and Kamryn, who smile from ear to ear in every moment with their mom! Their little smiles light up the Day Shelter and light up our hearts. We’re so happy for you and your family, Charaina! Congratulations!
Our friends from McGuireWoods LLP were in the Day Shelter today! They stepped in to lead the class, giving our teachers extra time to plan and create materials for their upcoming lessons!
McGuireWoods has volunteered and sponsored in the past, matching short-term actions with long-term impact! Would your company be interested in well-rounded support? Contact us: https://bit.ly/3LvBHqX
Our friends from Manhattan Associates volunteered and donated this week! Their donation can provide one student with 120 days of quality early childhood education. For their volunteer activity, our friends lead our kiddos in a sensory board activity, helping them distinguish between different textures!
🎉 Time to celebrate! 🎉 Two of our parents have gotten new jobs as essential employees in the environmental service industry! Will you congratulate Tenisha and La'Clarence with us?

Additionally, the City of Atlanta has announced several affordable housing initiatives in the last year with special emphasis on The Melody, a community of 40 converted shipping containers. We hope that initiatives like The Melody continue with the 3,512 families experiencing homelessness in Georgia in mind. For families like Fayanna's, housing is the vital first step to breaking the cycle of poverty.

We're thrilled to announce our new referral partnership with Midtown Assistance Center (MAC)! In March, our Family Services team connected with Mitchell Parsons, their Director of Operations, and together we're working towards preventing homelessness and hunger in Atlanta.
