Chad's Bracket provides necessary treatment and mobility using a wagon in a fun, and safe manner. This was unexpected, and it meant a change in the chemo plans.

The origins of Chad’s Bracket are as bittersweet as any history could possibly be. Thank You to the Goodhead and Gulledge Families for transporting this Chad's Bracket Wagon, and to Sam Gulledge for donating one of His Eagle Scout Project Wagons. It was presented to Cam in person in Oklahoma, after waiting a few months for the delivery, by Sam. Contact was made by the Oklahoma Children's Hospital, who had previously recieved 2 wagons donated by Sam and Jack Gulledge, in Honor of their Grandparents, natives of Oklahoma. Cam is a patient at Oklahoma Children's where He first came into contact with the Wagons. Enjoy it Cam!

On June 4th, deliveries of Chad's Bracket Wagons were made to 3 Children's Healthcare Of Atlanta facilities in Atlanta Ga. 3 went to Hughes Spaulding's HSOC Clinic, 6 went to the Center for Advanced Pediatrics, beside the soon to open, Arthur M. Blank Hospital. And 3 new Step 2 Chad's Bracket Wagons went to the Center for Safe and Healthy Children, in a secure location in North Atlanta. Thank You to the Lockheed Martin Employees, and Ronnie and Feylis Austin, Family of Caroline Jones, and anonymous Donors that donated these Wagons to these Wonderful Clinics that perform such needed Services to Children. Thanks Also to Pearl and Her Staff, Heather Porter and the CAP Staff, the Staff at HSOC, that we were unable to meet, and Pam Younker for Her dedication to CHOA, and Jack Pearson and Felicity McElroy for helping with the deliveries.

On Chad's Birthday, 05/15/24,we delivered 25 Chad's Bracket Wagons to Camp Twin Lakes, a camp that allows CHOA patients to get away and join patients with similar illnesses to spend a week of fun at Camp. Thank You to the Employees of Lockheed Martin, The Beavers, Layton, and Jones Families, Friends of Chad's Bracket, Eagle Scout Sam Gulledge, The South Cobb Lions Club and Marietta NDT for donating these wagons. On Saturday, April 6th, 13 Members of Scout Troop # 304, led by Carter Wrigley, who is earning His Eagle Scout Badge with this Project, along with several parents, raised the funds and came to build 15 Chad’s Bracket Wagons. 14 are going to the new Arthur M. Blank Hospital, and 1 went to Scottish Rite in honor of Carter’s Sister, Charlotte, who has experienced several surgeries and used the Wagons during Her visits to CHOA. Thank You Carter and Troop 304 for a Great day and for your time and generosity!

Today, Friday, March 29th, 10 Chad's Bracket Wagons were delivered to the Day Surgery Department at Children's Healthcare Of Atlanta, at Scottish Rite. They were donated by Stan and Debra Layton (2), Employees of Lockheed Martin (1), In Honor of Macarthur Hicks (1), and Barbara Hicks (1), The Dallas New Era (1), Marietta NDT (1), Family of Caroline Jones (1), and Friends of Chad's Bracket(1).

On December 5th, 2023, the Annual Lockheed Martin Employees at Marietta Ga. Christmas Wagon Build Event was held. This was the first time that it has been held since 2019, because of the COVID outbreak.
This was the event of the year, with 20 teams building and donating Chad’s Bracket Wagons! The teams and many observers were enjoying the festive atmosphere of the day and 3 trophies were awarded! The imagination and decorations of the Wagons, the teams enthusiasm and generosity was amazing! Of course, everyone had to keep an eye on that ole Grinch!
Afterwards, 21 1/2 Wagon boxes of toys were donated by the Employees of Lockheed Martin, to the Toys For Tots.
Thank You to Lockheed Martin, to Marietta, Ga. Site Manager, Rod McClain, Site Community Relations Manager, Ruth Lupoe, for the great Job Coordinating the event with us, The 20 teams that assembled the Wagons, and all the Employees of Lockheed Martin, that continue to support Chad’s Bracket through payroll deduction. Also, Publix for receiving and expediting the Toys For Tots delivery. It was a wonderful day, and already looking forward to 2024 to be even bigger and better!

Say Hello to the next generation of Chad's Bracket Wagon. This is the Step 2 Neighborhood Wagon that was approved this week by CHOA to replace the Radio Flier Pathfinder that was discontinued by Radio Flier recently. Thank You to Marietta NDT for modifying the bracket to fit the Step 2 Wagon, it will continue to provide mobility in the Hospitals and Homes to sick Children and while delivering necessary medication.

On Oct. 25th to Oct. 28th, a Chad’s Wagon delivery to the University Health Women’s and Children’s Hospital carried 12 Wagons to San Antonio, Texas. This is a beautiful new Hospital that increased the pediatric care from a floor with rooms designated to different care units to complete floors for each care unit. Thank You to Marietta NDT, with 2 Wagons, the Family of Doctor Leonard Alfred Cheever, an area Doctor, with 1 Wagon, Bobby Hulsey of Affordable Monuments, with 1 Wagon, and Lockheed Martin Employees with 8 Wagons. Thank You to Dinorah Gonzalez - Alcoster for Her work with us organizing the Delivery and contacting and arranging all the details that we needed for it to happen. Monica Gibson and some of the Child Life Staff are shown and will be using the wagons daily. Ronnie Austin again was Co-Driving for this 4 day trip.

It was a wonderful day on Friday September, 15th to be able to attend the 2nd annual, Valley of Atlanta, RiteCare Golf Tournament at the beautiful Fairways of Canton Golf Course, in Canton, Georgia. 1 Chad’s Bracket Wagon was donated by this generous group. Thanks to Walter Waddell, Frank Batt, and Harold McDurmond and many more volunteers, for doing this fundraiser for a wonderful organization. The wagon was later that evening donated to the Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton. Thanks to Ashley and Jennifer who are shown accepting the Chad’s Bracket Wagon in behalf of the ER.

On Wednesday, September 6th, 12 Chad’s Bracket Wagons were delivered to Duke University Children’s Hospital at Duke University at Durham, North Carolina. Thank You to Kiki Sowell, Rachael Benes, and Tammy Candito, for coordinating, and your work making everything go smoothly. Thank You to The Family of Caroline Jones for donating 2 wagons, Marietta NDT for Donating 2 wagons, Friends of Chad’s Bracket, Lacy Johnson Brogdon, Teresa Byram Hardy, Scott Hunton, and Sarah Gulledge, donating 1 wagon, 1 wagon donated in memory of Rose Udovich Detweiler, and Employees of Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Georgia, donating 6 wagons. It was a total of 894 miles through the beautiful mountains of Georgia, Tennessee, North and South Carolina.

This past Saturday, August 12th, 17 Scouts and their parents and Grandparents from Troop 735 came to assist Sam Gulledge assemble 9 Chad’s Bracket Wagons and help Him further His goal of attaining His Eagle Scout Badge. Sam has dedicated 7 of His Wagons to home bound kids that are on life sustaining equipment. 2 are already dedicated to a Young Man and a Young Lady in Tennessee and North Carolina. Number 8 is going to a Hospital in Kentucky, and Number 9 is going to the Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. Thank You Troop 735 for a great Morning! Thank You to all the Families and Donors that supported this Young Man reach his goal!

Many of You have asked me who Chad of Chad’s Bracket is. This is my Son Chad whose 36th Birthday would have been today. He worked for Puckett Ambulance stationed on the ambulance at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Chad was with me when we witnessed a Parent almost turn an IV cart on her Child going into an elevator, and told Me there had to be a better way to move Children around the Hospital with an IV. Chad was the best Friend, hunting and fishing Partner, snake catcher, Georgia Football Fan and Son, I could ever ask for. Happy Birthday Chaddo, We Love and Miss You Every day! And by the way we’re now over 1450 wagons donated in your Honor!

This Young Lady is Gracie Turner. Gracie is a patient at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. Gracie is on a constant feed pump except during the time She is receiving Her Chemo Treatments for an inoperable Brain Tumor. Thank You to the Employees of Lockheed Martin that Contributed 24 wagons by Payroll Deduction in 2022. These wagons are part of a continuing tradition of support by the Employees that started in the Production Control Group of the Flightline and expanded to the entire Marietta Campus of Lockheed Martin. We’re proud to be planning on another December Event for 2023, where the Employees will be again assembling 20 Chad’s Bracket Wagons on Campus! Thank You Lockheed Martin again for your support, many Children would not have had the ability of using a wagon, without your participation over the years! By the way, we’re at 1450 wagons donated since the 1st wagon in 2016 was delivered. Thank You All!

On January 21st, 2023, four Young Men, came to the shop to build 16 Chad’s Bracket Wagons. Jack Gulledge, Eagle Scout, Sam Gulledge, Scout, and Jackson Griffith, Scout, from Troop 735, and Luke Schulte, Beta Club Member at North Paulding High School, where Jack and Sam are also Beta Club Members. These Young Men are part of the group that came in 2022 and built Wagons. Also Thank You to David Goodhead and Sarah Gulledge, for bring these outstanding guys, and for their many years supporting Chad’s Bracket and their Families love and friendship.

Today, I met the Dad of Anveer Jain, a Young Man that has spent the past 4 Months in NICU at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Scottish Rite Hospital, being treated for various issues, to receive a Chad’s Bracket Wagon. This will enable the Family to provide mobility for Anveer, while being hooked to His support equipment.

On Jan. 5th, the second leg of the delivery carried us to St. Petersburg and John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Also, Caroline’s Great Aunt Gloria was present to represent Caroline and Her Family at the delivery. The 5th of Jan., 2023, a road trip saw the delivery of 10 wagons to Tampa, Florida. The St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital there was the recipient of 9 Chad’s Bracket Wagons, and one personal wagon going to a Young Man named Kai. Kai was born permature, and has spent nearly every day of his 6 months , in a Chad’s Bracket Wagon, receiving his care while being observed by His Nurses. Kai now will continue His care at home in His own Wagon. Thank You to Leanne for contacting us and coordinating the delivery.
