If you work in PR then you know the value of great photos to truly build a narrative.

I mean - every picture tells a story, don’t it??

So after going going back-and-forth with our awesome client Emily Reily Russell, managing director of Whole World Imrov Theatre, to get images for a Rough Draft story, many of them weren’t high res enough to use.

I love these cute ones of Emily and Whole World’s artistic director, Chip Powell, so much that I’m sharing them here 👉👉👉

In the end, Emily was able to service Rough Draft’s Sammie Purcell with great high res shots, and you can read the awesome story at the link in our bio 👆

🤣 you’ll love learning about Whole World Improv Theatre’s 30-year anniversary! Thank you, to all our friends over at Rough Draft!!

Isn’t it funny how you can work with a reporter for - like - ever and not know that she’s always wanted to travel the length of the South River? That’s one of the great things about this job - you learn something new every day!

Hopefully, anyway!

Big thank you to Nedra Rhone for your interest in this captivating little story! “Atlanta to the Atlantic,” presented by Flux Projects, took artists Rachel Parish and Sarah Cameron Sunde on a 450-mile kayak trip from a shallow point of the South River at the Browns Mill Golf Course (👉 for previous post) to Sapelo Island where it feeds into the Atlantic Ocean.

Follow for updates on the upcoming art installations inspired by their journey this fall.

Big thank you to Summer Evans and all the brilliant folks at WABE’s “City Lights” for an awesome interview w Gyun Hur in convo w Lois Reitzes about “Our mothers, our water, our peace,” presented by Flux Projects.

Hur explores how the Atlanta Spa Shootings in March 2021, followed by the escalation of hate crimes, instilled irreversible change in the narratives the next generation of Asian Americans will share with their children.

“Our mothers, our water, our peace” is part of Flux Projects’ multi-year series called FLOW, designed to explore ATL’s relationship with water.

You can see Hur at the Atlanta Art Fair, Oct 3-6, and the next March 15-30 Flux Projects will present her installations at the Goat Farm.

💛 Awesome article on Gyun Hur’s “Our mothers, our water, our peace,” presented by Flux Projects. Hur was unsure what direction her next project would take. ATL’s deadly spa shootings in 2021 made her choice clear.

This is Hur’s second work commissioned by Flux Projects after the 2011 “Spring Hiatus” performative installation featuring hand-shredded silk flowers laid in precise stripes on the floor at Lenox Square Mall. 👉

Big thank you to Cathy Fox, Cinque Hicks and ArtsATL for your robust coverage Flux Projects and the entire ATL arts community.

Period Poverty - like food insecurity - gets worse in the summer. As seen on Atlanta’s News First: A break from school shouldn’t mean a break from valuable resources.

“Even during the school year, 1 in 4 teens have missed school due to lack of access to period products,” said Stephanie Ungashick, Chief Advancement Officer at Helping Mamas.

Big thank you to Sawyer Buccy for always amplifying the good work of Helping Mamas. And big thank you to Stephanie Ungashick for being an awesome spokesperson!

“We truly believe that every renter in the country should have the opportunity to gain financially from renting if they take care of the place and pay their rent on time,” he said. “They’re the ones keeping the lights on.”

“We wanted to rethink the way that real estate works and reimagine the relationship between landlord and tenant, and we crafted something where we have partners in our buildings who are getting to participate in the solution and not something that would be considered the problem,” Roots Co-Founder Daniel Dorfman said.

Big thank you to Mark Lannaman, Maria Saporta and Saporta Report for this great article!

Read about Roots’ innovative wealth building platform where anyone can invest - even their residents. In my 25 of working in real estate PR I can tell you that this is game changing.

Our good friend Mary Kay Andrews is signing copies of her hot-off-the-presses new book, “Bright Lights, Big Christmas” TODAY at The Town House Restaurant & Inn in Buena Vista, GA. An avid supporter of Helping Mamas, she’s asking folks to bring diapers on this final day of Diaper Need Awareness Week. Will she raise more diapers than ESPN’s Elle Duncan or The Bert Show’s Kristin Klingshirn? With all these amazing folks collecting diapers, the future looks BRIGHT for Helping Mamas.

Join us for TOMORROW for the closing of “Ghost Pools,” Flux Projects’ summer-long installation of the artist Hannah Palmer’s temporary memorials to the two East Point pools that became a battleground over integration and were eventually abandoned.

The exhibition afforded dozens of East Point residents – both Black and white – to share their stories of swimming in these now-shuttered pools as part of an oral history called "Troubled Waters."

10 – 11:30 a.m. – Meet-the-Artist with Hannah Palmer @ East Point Historical Society
Drop by the Spring Avenue location of "Ghost Pools" (beside the East Point Historical Society) to meet Palmer, who will greet guests, answer questions, and share her experience researching public swimming.

2 p.m. – Flux Projects presents a Panel Discussion with Hannah Palmer, Ann Hill Bond and East Point Fire Chief Corey Deon Thornton @ Arts Xchange
Palmer will reflect on “Ghost Pools” with Ann Hill Bond, who has been comprising “Troubled Waters,” the oral history component of the project. They will discuss what they learned from people who remember and swam in these pools, including East Point Fire Chief Corey Deon Thornton, who will join Palmer and Bond on stage to share his memories in person.

As we kick off Hunger Action Month, this High Five Friday goes out to our pals at Second Helpings Atlanta, who rescues fresh, surplus food and drive it to the agencies that serve those who need it the most.

Did you know that one in nine adults in Metro Atlanta experience food insecurity? And that number is even higher for kids – one in seven.

Here are a few ways you can support Second Helpings Atlanta during Hunger Action Month:

1. Donate
2. Volunteer
3. Put on your dancing shoes and join us on Thursday, September 21 at Feed Atlanta: A Night of Giving & Grooving, complete with food trucks, booze carts, live music and more!

This week’s High Five Friday goes out to Bess Weyandt, who re-launched Tree House Naturals with the cutest little canned pecanmilks!

You may remember the array of nutmilks in mason jars that she used to sell at the farmers markets. Well, she took a little break and came back to market with nutmilks made from the only nut that’s native to North America. That means it’s also sustainable. And pecans are superfoods – so it’s good for the environment, and you!

You can still catch her at the Freedom Farmers Market with the original and chocolate pecan milk. You can also find the online

Check out Treehouse Natural as refresher after the gym, a dairy free alternative in your coffee or just a nice repast during the day - we know you’ll love ‘em!
