In partnership with Shiloh High School, Silence the Shame is pleased to invite you to the Youth Mental Wellness Community Outreach & Practice Effort (COPE) Clinic. This clinic aims to foster authentic and uncensored conversations about mental health and wellness. The COPE Clinic is open to teens (ages 13-19) and their caregivers in Gwinnet County.
During the clinic, teen participants will have the opportunity to connect and discuss managing daily stress and prioritizing wellness with a panel of their peers. They will also engage in expression stations, where they can gain professional and personal skills-based experiences such as content creation, podcasting, and practicing wellness strategies such as yoga, and goal setting.
We also invite parents/caregivers/mentors to participate in our Parent Café session. This session provides a safe space for adult participants to manage their wellness, learn how to be trusted adults, and promote healthy development for their youth with a licensed behavioral health professional.

As a su***de survivor, it can be very difficult to move on after a loved one’s death. Unanswered questions and grief can take a toll on survivors. Grief counseling, su***de support groups, and su***de hotlines and organizations can all be great assets for su***de survivors.
If you are not ready for that, here are a few books that might help you with the grieving process:
• Rocky Roads: The Journeys of Families through Su***de Grief: Michelle Linn-Gust, Ph.D., Chellehead Works, 2010.
• Silent Grief: Living in the Wake of Su***de: Christopher Lukas and Henry M. Seiden, Ph.D., Jessica Kingsley Publishers, 2007 (revised edition).
• Su***de of a Child : Adina Wrobleski, Centering Corp., 2002.
• Black Su***de: The Tragic Reality of America’s Deadliest Secret: Alton R. Kirk, Ph.D., Beckham Publications Group, 2009.
• Unfinished Conversation: Healing from Su***de and Loss — A Guided Journey: Robert E. Lesoine and Marilynne Chopel, Parallax Press, 2013.
Remember there is always someone available to talk when you need it. Just text "SILENCE" to 741-741.

No Reservations Needed (NRN), a homeless outreach initiative, was established ten years ago by Music Veteran Executive Shanti Das to bring awareness to the economic instability in our communities and promote mental well-being. Now, as the founder of Silence the Shame, Inc. (STS), Das continues to empower the community to give back and support unhoused Georgians to promote hopeful and healthy living. We have successfully partnered with the Atlanta Mission to serve authentic holiday meals to over 400 men annually to promote social connectedness and healthy living. In addition, STS has partnered with V-103 Radio Station, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and several other influencers, sports figures, and community leaders to empower the men to keep achieving their housing goals.
A huge THANK YOU to all of our volunteers in advance! We couldn’t do this without you!
It takes time and effort, but you can heal.
