GreenFest Denton
GreenFest Denton - A North Texas festival celebrating outdoor family fun! Primary events include a 5k & 10K
GreenFest 5K on the Denton County Greenbelt exists to raise awareness and funds for the preservation of this north Texas wilderness corridor - our region's natural treasure. The annual festival is hosted April by the Greenbelt Alliance, a 501 (c) 3 organization.
Thank you all for joining us. We are so grateful that the weather held up and we were able to spend the day with you. Here are the photos from the event.

It has been a long day of course building in the rain. The good news is, we have a beautiful course for all of you and we think this event is going to be our best yet. See you all tomorrow.
We are watching the weather closely and are very hopeful that we will still be able to hold our rescheduled event on Saturday. Depending on how much rain is received prior to Saturday, we may have to adjust the course to stay on the main greenbelt trail.
If there is only light rain on Saturday morning, we will still have our event. If there is lightning in the area, we will not be able due to safety concerns. If we are unable to have our event, we will still set up a location for you to come pick up your goodie bags, t-shirts and medals on Friday evening and Saturday morning.
Our meeting with Texas Parks and Wildlife to discuss the weather, is on Thursday evening. We will post an update once we have finished that meeting and a decision has been made. Thank you for your understanding.
Our 5K has reached maximum capacity so registration for it has been closed. The 10K and 1 Mile still have room, so get signed up for one of those distances today!
Happy belated Mothers' Day to all the amazing mothers in our Greenbelt community!
Fortunately there's a lack of bison on the Greenbelt! 😆 But we always welcome selfies and trail pictures!
Think of the paperwork. Remember to treat wildlife with proper caution and respect, plus no one likes an unflattering selfie. The safety of these animals, as well as your safety, depends on everyone using good judgment. In conclusion, choices. Make good ones.

GreenFest 5K
GreenFest on the Greenbelt 5K is an event centered around health, wellness, and recreation. We will have food and activities for the whole family including bounce houses, music, and food trucks. This is not your every day 5K, this one is unique because of the surroundings and the unique experience in the festival area. The 5K will be timed and almost entirely off-road, the course will take you along the beautiful Greenbelt Trail and across the historic Elm Fork Bridge. The 1 Mile Fun Run will be around the festival area for all of the spectators to enjoy. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Dogs on a leash are welcome to join, strollers are welcome but the course will be very challenging for a stroller.
GreenFest on the Greenbelt is presented by The Greenbelt Alliance of Denton County, A 501(c)3 nonprofit. They are a community-based, volunteer organization that fosters awareness of the Greenbelt. The goal of this event is to raise funds for the Texas State Parks and Wildlife Department. Last year we raised over $4000.00 and we hope to at least double that this year. The funds we donate are kept local and used to improve the Greenbelt as well as Ray Roberts Lake State Park
All participants of the 5K will receive a swag-bag with sponsor goodies, event t-shirt, finisher medal, and finish line refreshments.
The 5K will have prizes for the top 3 overall male and female finishers as well as top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups:
