See Ya Later Foundation - WA
Vision: Inspiring Youth - Encouraging Families
Our mission is to support and encourage families facing a life-threatening medical illness with a child.
The “See Ya Later” Foundation is a non-profit organization, began out of the inspiration of a 12 year old boy who died of cancer. Scott Banke had a zest for life and a courage that motivates the mission of the Foundation which is: INSPIRING YOUTH ~ ENCOURAGING FAMILIES.
Sophia needs your prayers more than ever right now. Doctors just told the family there is nothing more they can do. They were 24 hours away from a Make-a-Wish trip, and now they are staring at the inconceivable. Please put Sophia and her family in your prayers today. Such a great family. We are heartbroken to hear this news. #
Just a quick reminder that SYL Day at the Tacoma Rainiers is coming up in just 13 days!! Join us on Sunday, August 4th as the Rainiers take on the Salt Lake Bees at 1:35 pm. We will have a silent auction on the first base concourse and have volunteers there to raise awareness for SYL and pediatric cancer. Tickets are just $20 and include a hot dog, water, and a snack.
The Rainiers are currently in first place and are a very exciting team to watch. We will also be honoring our Seeds of Hope families at the game and hope you will come to be part of our special day at the park.

Lots of hugs and tears today. We are happy to help no matter what!

This is the 6th year for July 17th being recognized as Glioblastoma (GBM) Awareness Day in the United States. GBM is the most common, complex, treatment-resistant, and deadliest type of brain cancer. Many of the families that we have assisted have been served this death sentence. Approximately 14,000 Americans per year are diagnosed with GBM, and the 5-year survival rate is under 7%. To date, the FDA has only approved 4 drugs to assist in the fight against GBM. Source: braintumor.org

Our “See ya later” Story
Our mission is to support families just like Scott’s. Families that are in need of hope, inspiration and encouragement on their journey through diagnosis, treatment and recovery. As a foundation, we meet families where they are at in the process as seek to provide support that can vary from gift cards for food and gas, to helping with backyard or bedroom makeovers. Every family has the opportunity to ask for the support that will best help them at the time where they need it most.
We got our name from Scott Banke himself as he was enjoying his Make A Wish experience. Scott was being recorded on video narrating his experience when he told the camera and the viewers that he would “see ya later”. Scott did not want to say goodbye to anyone, instead, choosing to always think on the positive and that he would plan on seeing all of us later.
