Please be advised that starting Monday July 8, 2024 at 12:00am there will be a closure of all Eastbound traffic, Gardiner to Randolph, on the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Bridge, #2304 - carrying State Routes 9, 27 and 126 over the Kennebec River. This closure will remain in effect through Friday August 16, 2024 to accommodate bridge repairs being performed for The Maine DOT.
Eastbound traffic that would normally cross the bridge will follow a signed detour continuing north on US 201/Route 27 through Farmingdale, Hallowell and into Augusta. Cross the Augusta Memorial Bridge over the Kennebec River and utilize Route 9 back through Chelsea and to the Randolph end of the Bridge. Alternatively, if planning ahead - motorists can avoid the work zone in Gardiner and utilize the Kennebec River Bridge Crossing south of the closure from Richmond to Dresden – or travel directly to the Augusta Memorial bridge crossing via alternate routes such as Western Ave.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as National Police Week. During this time we remember and honor those law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. We also recognize those who continue to bravely wear the badge and continue to serve the communities.
Sheriff Mason would like to take this opportunity to thank all the deputies at the Sheriff's Office for their service to the community and the great job they are doing.
