More than a century ago, Major Taylor paved the way for many athletes in cycling and sports.
He was a pioneer and trailblazer.

His modesty was unparalleled and his abilities unmatched.
His story continue to inspired generations of athletes and seeing what Biniam Girmay is doing now at Le Tour de France we can certainly say he is advancing the work pretty well.
Although not in the same cycling discipline, this is still a major shift and progress toward Taylor's vision of the cycling world.

dial back my ride intensity by 10-15%,
breath through my nose > 50% of the time
Complete the hilly loop 10-15 min slower than usual
Met all 3 goals!

Did you know the chainless bicycle that Major Taylor rode in the 1890’s was the inspiration for the differential on the automobile? Harry Sager, a wealthy industrialist who owned the rights to the spiral bevel gear challenged Major Taylor and his pace crew to set a world record for the mile. If they were successful they would take home the sum of ten thousand dollars ($377,000. today) The gear was mounted on Taylor’s favorite Iver Johnson, model 90 with the attempt made on a blustery night at the Philly bike track.
