This photo, taken in March 1945, on Iwo Jima, Japan, shows the 4th Marine Division Cemetery and its endless rows of graves. Thousands of miles away from home, these Marines gave everything they had.....for everything we have. May we never forget their sacrifice.

For this week's , we’d like to feature U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Kyle King, the Inspector Instructor for Battery Q, 5th Battalion, 14th Marines.
King has been at Buckley AFB since July 2018 and is the Officer in Command for site support at a reserve unit. His battalion works with M777 Howitzers, which provide fire support for infantry or other ground units. He and his team conduct training and coordinate maintenance so the reservists can get straight into training on their drill weekend.
Spending time to take care of the people that work for him is a prioritization that King holds dear. He aspires to give them a positive workplace, and make sure they are recognized for their efforts.
In his freetime, he enjoys doing anything outdoors. He is fond of skiing and has found a recent interest in biking. He also takes pleasure in volleyball or co****le, and he loves getting out and seeing new places.
King is also an experienced athlete, and was recognized as the Marine Corp Male Athlete of the Year of 2020! 🏆
Some of his athletic accomplishments include participating in the military world games in China back in 2019, where he earned 8th place. In January 2020, he competed in the U.S. Cross Country Championships down in San Diego, placing 15th. The following month in February 2020, he went to the Olympic Trials for a marathon, placing 47th out of approximately 220 athletes!
King will be departing from Buckley AFB in July, and plans to spend the first 10 days of July running the Colorado Trail.
Thank you Capt. King, for all you do here at Buckley -- we wish you the best this summer with your next assignment!
Here are some big changes that may be coming to the Marine Corps They include reservist drone pilots, ditching weapons company and the light armored vehicle's replacement.
