Waubonsee Community College TRIO Upward Bound Program

🎉 , in partnership with Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois, will host "Latinas Taking the Lead," an initiative of our “Colegio de Empoderamiento,” which aims to empower WCC Latinx students and families in the community. This FREE learning series is designed to help Latina women navigate the U.S. education and higher education systems.

Sessions will be open to the public on Thursdays from 8/29 - 9/26 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. at the Aurora DWNTN Campus. Sessions will be presented in Spanish, with free child care and snacks provided.

❗ DEADLINE APPROACHING: Alderwoman Juany Garza's Scholarship Program!

💵 Ward 2 Alderwoman, Juany Garza, will be awarding two $2,500 scholarships to college students residing in Ward 2 AND a limited number of scholarships to students who live within the City of Aurora!

📆 The deadline to submit an application for the scholarships is August 16!

📍 Applications can be dropped off at the Aldermen's Office (60 E. Downer Place) or mailed to City Hall (44 E. Downer Place). All mailed in applications must be postmarked by August 16.

Youth Night at River Light FC on July 10 ⚽

In partnership with River Light FC, Aurora's premier semi-pro soccer team, we are excited to welcome the youth of Aurora and their families to one of their last games of the season! 😄

We are also giving away up to 4 event tickets per family for Aurora students who attended any summer program in our city. To receive your free tickets, follow the steps below:

-Send an email with the title "YOUTH NIGHT FREE TICKETS" to [email protected] & [email protected]
-Include the first & last name of the adult picking tickets up at the game
-Include how many tickets you'd like (up to 4)
-Include which summer program your child(ren) attended

Once we receive your email, we will confirm and send additional information. Tickets will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis!

See you all this Wednesday! The game starts at 7 P.M. 🥅

Juneteenth 2024 | Aurora, IL Held on Juneteenth – Wednesday, June 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - the Summit will be an empowering and educational experience for young leaders in middle school and high school.
