This group exercise class is catered towards those who have lymphedema and those at risk for lymphedema. Taught by a certified lymphedema therapist you will have individualized instruction to guide your through strengthening, stretching, and endurance exercises safe and effective for anyone dealing with lymphatic compromise. You must be cleared by a medical doctor on your team to participate in this class.

These weekly goals for exercise are current and updated guidelines by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) for physical activity to be used for cancer prevention, during cancer treatment, and after treatment.
Guidelines specific to cancer exercise, include a combination of:
🔸 aerobic exercise for 30 minutes, 3 days a week 🏃🏻♀️
🔸 resistance training 2 days a week 💪🏼
🔸 flexibility and stretching 🧘🏻♀️ or see a professional, like a PT, to address specific motion impairments 👩🏽⚕️
A study published in 2019 by Lee, et al. “debunked” that 10,000 steps a day was necessary for optimal health (in general, they found the benefits to max out around 7,500 steps). 👟
Any movement is better than none! So take 10 minutes and get up and move your body. Clean, get in the garden, play with your kids (or your dog!), go for a walk, or dance in the kitchen. The benefits are endless 🙌🏼
