Here is where today’s market finished, and a graph on 10 yr., just shows similar movements to mortgage rates, although 30 yr. mortgage rates are higher. Also, note that the MBS (Mortgage-backed securities on the 5.5% 30 yr. The coupon is now priced over 101.00, so if that price continues to move closer to 102.00, then they will roll over to the 5.0% coupon. These 30 yr. MBS coupons are what the mortgage companies really use to hedge their 30-year rates. 😊
