Our Story

Why should you become a member of the Texas Travel Alliance?

Advocacy, Education, Communication, and Networking

Working with industry partners keeps members connected and in-the-know on the latest trends and issues impacting the industry. The Texas travel industry as a whole benefits when we present a strong, unified position on public issues. In addition, Alliance members have unique opportunities to participate in one-of-a-kind marketing programs, industry leading education and professional development. Join your peers in developing the tourism industry by becoming a member of the Texas Travel Alliance.

Some of the benefits of membership in the Texas Travel Alliance include:

Advocacy
The Texas Travel Alliance and its members have been a positive force in helping to acquire funding for tourism marketing and visitor services in state government. In order to maintain funding and ensure that dollars are wisely spent, the Alliance monitors legislative activities and informs the membership when action is required. Additionally, we work with local communities to assist them in securing tourism support. The Alliance acts in cooperation with other tourism entities in the state to develop awareness of the benefits of tourism and to keep the industry healthy.

Texas Travel Industry Unity Dinner
Each year, the Texas Travel Industry Unity Dinner provides the travel & tourism industry the opportunity to show strength in numbers. Celebrating the importance of travel & tourism as a major growth segment of the economy, the Unity Dinner furnishes members with the opportunity to interact with elected officials and other major players in the industry. Held in Austin during Legislative Session years, the event recognizes the importance of the legislative process in achieving our goals.

Texas Travel Summit
Held each Fall, Summit is the Texas Travel Allianceโ€™s annual professional development and education conference. Each year, more than 500 leaders and professionals from the Texas travel industry meet to discuss ideas, issues and trends, learn how to promote travel & tourism more effectively, network with other industry professionals, listen to state and national authorities on travel and tourism, and see the latest in products and services available to the industry.

Travel & Tourism College
The Texas Travel Allianceโ€™s Certified Tourism Executive certification program brings travel & tourism professionals from across the West and Southwest U.S. together for one week each summer for an intensive curriculum of travel & tourism marketing, management, and leadership courses. Designed as a 3-year certification program, a final capstone project is required to receive the Certified Tourism Executive designation.

Marketing Opportunities for Members Only
Texas Travel Expo for Travel Counselors
Each year, Texas' professional travel counselors at the state's Travel Information Centers, city visitor centers, and state parks guide millions of visitors to area attractions. For the past 30 years, the Texas Travel Allianceโ€™s Travel Expo has provided the travel industry in Texas the opportunity to meet face-to-face with a majority of these travel counselors. This event is a celebration of the valuable service travel counselors provide to the travel & tourism industry, and the beneficial relationship we share.

"See Texas First" Integrated Marketing Program
The See Texas First integrated co-operative opportunities combine print and online promotion to deliver branding and direct response throughout the spring and fall. The program provides Alliance members with direct access to travelers and typically generates in excess of 300,000 responses. Written in "advertorial" form, it allows participants to send exactly the message they want. A response card generates direct inquiries from potential visitors. In addition, Vacationfun.Com visitors & subscribers receive eBlasts and eZines that reach best-match subscribers who have asked to receive ongoing travel updates.

Publications and Other Resources

The Texas Travel Alliance E-Newsletter
The Alliance's e-newsletter provides pertinent information on association activities and updates on happenings in the tourism industry.

Texas Travel Alliance Travel News Report
