Suncrest hospice Austin had a great time assisting Activity Director Shelly at Juniper Village for her Annual Farmers Market! 🧑‍🌾 The residents had a blast buying an assortment of treats with their Juniper Bucks! 💵 There was pasta salad, egg salad, chicken salad, 🍉 watermelon, 🍓 strawberries, 🍪 cookies, and even brownies to choose from! 🍫 The residents thoroughly enjoyed having so many options. 🌟

What services are provided with hospice?

The services provided by the hospice team include:
- Management of patient pain and symptoms
- Assisting the patient with the emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual aspects of dying
- Provide needed drugs, medical supplies, and equipment
- Coach the family on how to care for the patient
- Deliver special services like physical, speech, music, and art therapies
- Make short-term inpatient care available when pain or symptoms become too difficult to manage at home or the caregiver needs respite time
- Provide bereavement care and counseling to surviving family and friends

Check out what Volunteer Coordinator Kate and Marketer Alicia were up to on Monday and how they welcomed the new week!

Kate and Alicia ran the first “Gentle Touch Program” at Mt. Arlington Senior Living. It was a huge success! Spa music played, aromatherapy diffusers filled the air and delicious snacks were served while the residents waited their turn.

Residents even enjoyed arm and hand massages with lavender and wildflower lotion and topped it off with a hot towel wrap.

We couldn’t be more appreciative of the work Kate and Alicia do and we are so happy the residents of Mt. Arlington Senior Living had a great day!

Suncrest Hospice Austin hosted the SIS networking group in June. It was a wonderful morning of networking with the best of the best in multiple industries across Austin.

Our friend Angela shared with her RNCM Mackenzie upon admission she really would love to go to the movies specifically Bad Boys lll. Mackenzie shared this with her team and we were all determined to make this happen for her.

We all had some great laughs, yummy treats and happy hearts! Today is another reminder hospice care isn’t about dying, it’s about living! 💙💚
