Here is the link for the finish Clay plaster class. I will be doing in Crestone, Colorado. I guarantee it will be a great learning experience for all those who attend.
Clay Plasters — The Crestone Energy Fair September 21 & 22, 9am - 4pm Finish Clay Plasters workshop taught by Tim White, President of Texas Healthy Homes. Clay, as a building material, has a lot of amazing properties from negative ions to no VOC’s and everything in between. We will cover what substrates you can go over, different
This September I will finally be able to get back to Colorado. I will be putting on a small Adobe floor class in Southwest Colorado. This will be hands-on overview of how they go together and how they reduce the carbon footprint in a building.
We will be here doing presentations and sharing my experience of 2+ decades in natural building.
I love it when things come together.
Made great progress this week on our project finished all of our tongue and groove soffit and finished our scratch coat of lime plaster on the exterior. Brown and finish coats of exterior lime plaster coming up next week. Then we move inside start finishing the interior walls and ceilings!
It’s great when project starts to come together!
Bruce King and his book ‘New Carbon Architecture’ talks about how earthen building material can help us reduce our carbon footprint and buildings. I heard him, in a presentation, challenge people to view Clay as concrete.
Here are some photos of us doing a base Adobe floor on a back porch in Texas. You can see from the photos that we have truly embraced that approach.
Get rid of the concrete slab, replace it with an adobe floor.

Spot on Gayle Borst, Natural Building Architect and founder of Stewardship Inc.
Gayle Borst has practiced sustainable architecture for over ten years. Her undergraduate training as a biologist gave her a fundamental understanding of life processes that has lead to a greater depth of understanding of real sustainability, particularly with respect to systems thinking and the importance of interrelationships. It is not surprising that many of her special areas of interest - natural building materials, site-responsive design, indoor-outdoor spaces - have strong ties to the biological world.

Darron DelToro being the mixmaster on our H**plime cast in place. We had three great weeks of our intro to H**p building seminars. Last week the owners in our crew finished up the cast in place on this 1500 square-foot house. We used about 20,000 pounds Hurd on this project. we were also excited that we were able to make 50 batches of material on one day and get it into the walls. When we do cast in place, this is where we want to average our daily output.
This is a good overview of how we are approaching h**p building moving forward.
This is the truth.

"...here’s an example of a house. That has no drywall in it, has no paint in it. We did not use one tube of caulk in the whole house... And it’s performing great. I mean, and so that’s the exciting part about it. And winning a national award for it to the U. S. H**p Building Association has put it. How do they put it? The Hondo house is the new bar for sustainable building."
